
Associate Director - New Business

WHO YOU ARE:
The Associate Director – New Business / Policy Issuance in the Annuities Third-Party Administration (TPA) business will lead the new business and policy issuance operations for annuity products. This position will be responsible for overseeing the entire process of policy issuance from application intake through to the delivery of the final policy. The role will involve working closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant issuance of annuity policies. The Associate Director will manage a team of professionals, implement operational improvements, and drive efficiency in the new business and policy issuance processes.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Oversee and manage the entire new business and policy issuance lifecycle, including the intake of applications, setup and fund allocation, policy creation, and delivery.
- Ensure all new business applications are processed accurately and efficiently, adhering to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the policy issuance process from contract creation to policy delivery, ensuring timeliness and compliance with established SLAs and quality standards.
- Develop, implement, and continuously optimize processes and workflows related to new business and policy issuance to improve efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of new business and policy issuance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Develop a high-performing team by establishing clear goals, providing regular feedback, and creating opportunities for ongoing professional development.
- Ensure that the team is well-versed in annuity products, industry regulations, and best practices in policy issuance.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure policy issuance is in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Stay current on industry regulations, trends, and best practices to minimize risk exposure and maintain high standards of claims management.
- Work closely with legal and compliance teams to address any regulatory or legal issues related to processing.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between the New business department and other business units, including finance, technology, product, and customer service teams.
- Interface with carrier and our technology partners, to resolve issues and enhance service delivery.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, brokers, to ensure satisfaction and resolution of escalated claims.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Develop and present regular reports on new business and policy issuance performance, including KPIs, SLAs, and any areas of concern or improvement.
- Analyze trends in new business submissions, policy issuance times, and other key metrics to identify patterns and drive improvements.
- Provide leadership with actionable insights to ensure the department meets its targets and enhances overall operational performance.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, or a related field. Master's degree or industry
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in new business policy issuance within the annuities or life insurance industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role..
- Strong knowledge of insurance regulations, policies, and industry best practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
