WHO YOU ARE:
Zinnia is seeking a dynamic Associate Director of Communications to play a role in leading transformative communication strategies that drive employee engagement and support our ongoing business transformation. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is excited by change rather than maintaining the status quo. This means partnering with key stakeholders—including the People team, Marketing, and senior leadership—to craft compelling messages that resonate with our global workforce of over 3,000 employees. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring employees are informed, aligned with our vision, and motivated to become ambassadors for Zinnia. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker passionate about change management, adept at delivering clear and impactful messaging, and a creative problem solver who continuously explores new ways to engage employees. Aligned with our core values of be bold, team up, and deliver value, you will guide teams through change and shape Zinnia’s future success.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Be the trusted communications partner to internal teams, crafting impactful narratives that connect key moments into inspiring, big-picture strategies.
  • Create sharp, engaging content across formats — from articles to scripts to Slack — that informs, aligns, and inspires.
  • Manage the editorial calendar, weaving in diverse perspectives from global teams to tell a unified story.
  • Craft compelling newsletter content that keeps employees informed, energized, and connected.
  • Juggle fast-moving priorities with ease — keeping multiple projects on track in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment.
  • Identify measurements for communications-related materials and routinely analyze communications performance.
  • Lead with collaboration — leveraging tools and touchpoints to keep teams aligned, engaged, and in-the-know.
  • Understand and translate the Zinnia brand and style guidelines into a clear, confident, and human voice

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Conceptual, creative thinker with a passion for researching, writing, story-telling, and the willingness to learn from others
  • 10+ years of writing/editing/proofreading experience in corporate communications, journalism, publishing, public relations, marketing or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English or a related field
  • Fintech or Insuretech experience or a closely related field
  • Flexibility to change communication strategies as the business requires.
  • Ability to structure and conduct interviews and other fact-finding research efforts and synthesize findings into key points
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in dealing with executive and senior leaders
  • Experience in a corporate environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
