API Sr Software Engineer I

WHO YOU ARE:

As a Sr Software engineer, you will execute on product’s vision for a modern, frictionless, scalable, API first and persona-driven customer identity and access management system, which collectively result in the best end-to-end Life & Annuities solution in the industry. You will partner with fellow engineers to create a reusable, predictable, and discoverable design and development framework allowing rapid, consistent, and maintainable customer authentication and authorization solutions. We are seeking a team player with leadership experience, exceptional users and API security skills, and a proven track record of successful delivery.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Design and implement API policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Develop enterprise API solutions using an industry leading API platform (Kong).
• Help junior developers to make sure that the enterprise API solutions are implemented correctly and in a timely manner.
• Integrate the enterprise CIAM solution for all internal and external APIs.
• Collaborate with CIAM team to extend its capability to serve our clients.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
• 7+ years of software development experience using typescript frameworks like NestJS.
• Working knowledge of implementing OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect protocols.
• Experience in building industry standard APIs.
• Experience in API governance, versioning, and API APM.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, etc.
• Working knowledge of common DevOps tasks (Environment provisioning, CI/CD Pipelines, and application monitoring).
• Excellent work ethic. Ability to work and travel independently. Effective strategic thinking skills.
• Expert level communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills. Expert level troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to influence, lead, and work as part of a cross-functional, distributed team.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
