Infrastructure Engineer I - AWS Support Engineer

WHO YOU ARE:

An experienced AWS Support Engineer to join our cloud operations team. This role focuses on providing technical assistance and operational support for AWS environments. You’ll work closely with platform engineers, responding to incoming support tickets, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring AWS resources are optimized, secure, and highly available.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Respond promptly to support tickets submitted by platform engineers and other internal teams.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation.
  • Assist in provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of AWS resources.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and cost metrics using CloudWatch and other monitoring tools.
  • Implement and maintain AWS best practices for security, networking, and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and platform engineering teams to support automation and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate teams and follow through to resolution.
  • Maintain documentation for support procedures, incident resolutions, and operational playbooks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal AWS support processes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience managing AWS environments.
  • Experience supporting engineers or developers in a ticket-based or service-desk environment.
  • Proficiency with core AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix system administration and networking fundamentals.
  • Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate (preferred)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (preferred)
