About Zinnov

Zinnov is a global management consulting firm that helps organizations make decisions that actually get used — and deliver results that matter. For over two decades, we’ve partnered with leading enterprises, high-growth technology companies, and investors to answer some of the toughest questions they face:

  • Where should we invest?

  • How do we scale globally?

  • What capabilities will win in the next decade?

Our work shapes market entry strategies, global operating models, M&A decisions, and long-term growth bets. We’re known for being data-led, execution-focused, and outcome-driven — not opinion-heavy slideware.

At Zinnov, how you work matters as much as what you deliver. We value independent thinking, crisp communication, and early ownership. With 450+ professionals across 10 global offices, we work across industries including Digital Services, ER&D, Enterprise Software, Semiconductors, Healthcare, BFSI, Automotive, Media & Telecom, and Private Equity.

Zinnov isn’t for everyone. It’s for people who want steep learning curves, honest feedback, and the chance to see their work influence real business decisions — not just presentations.

Why Globalization Excellence (GE)

Zinnov’s Globalization Excellence (GE) practice helps enterprises build and scale Global Capability Centers (GCCs) end-to-end — from Design & Discovery to Build, Scale, and Run.

In GE, you don’t work in silos. You:

  • Own complex, end-to-end client journeys
  • Work across GCC advisory, managed services, and BOT / outsourcing models
  • Influence leadership decisions that shape long-term talent and operating strategies

This is where strategy meets execution — and where talent plays a defining role.

About the Role

As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will build and sustain strong employee–management relationships by proactively addressing workplace concerns, managing employee relations matters end-to-end, and resolving conflicts with fairness, maturity, and strong documentation discipline.

This role plays a critical part in enabling a respectful, inclusive workplace culture while ensuring HR practices remain aligned with applicable Indian labour laws and statutory requirements. This is a 100% work-from-office role requiring regular in-person interaction with employees, managers, and leadership.

What You’ll Do

Employee Relations & Case Management

  • Manage employee relations matters end-to-end: grievances, disciplinary issues, conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct fair, timely, and well-documented investigations into complaints, grievances, or policy violations; recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employees—address concerns, clarify policies, and ensure clear, timely communication.
  • Promote a positive and respectful environment through open dialogue, transparency, and collaborative problem-solving.

Manager Coaching & Performance Support

  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on ER best practices, effective communication, and conflict management.
  • Advise managers on performance management: coaching, corrective action, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), and separations—ensuring consistency and fairness.
  • Support the development, implementation, and tracking of PIPs in alignment with company policies and Indian employment practices.

HR Compliance & Policy Enablement (India)

  • Partner with HR leadership to ensure compliance with applicable Indian labour laws and statutory requirements, including (but not limited to):
  • Labour Code
  • Shops & Establishments Acts (state-specific)
  • Industrial Disputes Act
  • Payment of Wages Act
  • Maternity Benefit Act
  • Payment of Gratuity Act
  • POSH (Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act)
  • Support drafting, review, and implementation of employee policies and procedures that meet statutory requirements and strengthen workplace culture.
  • Conduct periodic audits/reviews of ER policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance and relevance.
  • Stay current on changes in labour laws and recommend proactive policy/process enhancements.

Documentation, Confidentiality & Records

  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of ER cases, investigations, disciplinary actions, and outcomes.
  • Ensure employee files and records are maintained in line with statutory retention and data privacy requirements.

Training, Awareness & Culture

  • Partner with L&D to design and deliver training on HR policies, employee handbook, workplace conduct, POSH, safety, and ethics.
  • Support manager and employee training on ER best practices, compliance obligations, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Act as a culture ambassador by reinforcing organizational values and desired workplace behaviors.

Employee Engagement Insights

  • Support HR initiatives related to engagement, retention, and recognition programs.
  • Lead stay interviews and exit interviews; analyze insights to identify trends, risks, and improvement areas.
  • Present actionable recommendations to leadership based on stay/exit insights.

What You Bring

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (MSW / MBA (HRM) preferred).
  • 8+ years of hands-on HR experience with strong depth in Employee Relations in an Indian organizational context.
  • Strong understanding of Indian labour laws, statutory compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience conducting workplace investigations, managing grievances, and handling sensitive employee matters.
  • HR certifications (e.g., SHRM, NHRDN, or equivalent) are an advantage.

Key Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making with strong fairness and objectivity.
  • High confidentiality and discretion in emotionally sensitive situations.
  • Strong documentation rigor and closure discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English; additional regional languages are a plus.
  • Ability to navigate complex employee issues with maturity and empathy.

Working Environment

  • 100% office-based role with regular on-site presence and face-to-face interaction as a core requirement.
  • Professional indoor office setting with standard working conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged sitting/desk work and regular computer usage.
  • Frequent verbal and written communication.
  • Occasional movement within the office and occasional travel for meetings/trainings as needed.

What Success Looks Like

  • Employee relations cases are handled fairly, quickly, and consistently—with strong documentation and minimal escalations.
  • Managers feel coached and enabled to handle performance and conflict situations with maturity and process discipline.
  • Compliance posture stays strong through policy hygiene, audits, and proactive updates aligned to labour law changes.
  • Stay/exit insights translate into practical interventions that improve engagement and retention.
  • Employees experience a workplace that is respectful, inclusive, and guided by clear policies and timely communication.
