About Zinnov
Zinnov is a global management consulting firm that helps organizations make decisions that actually get used — and deliver results that matter. For over two decades, we’ve partnered with leading enterprises, high-growth technology companies, and investors to answer some of the toughest questions they face:
-
Where should we invest?
-
How do we scale globally?
-
What capabilities will win in the next decade?
Our work shapes market entry strategies, global operating models, M&A decisions, and long-term growth bets. We’re known for being data-led, execution-focused, and outcome-driven — not opinion-heavy slideware.
At Zinnov, how you work matters as much as what you deliver. We value independent thinking, crisp communication, and early ownership. With 450+ professionals across 10 global offices, we work across industries including Digital Services, ER&D, Enterprise Software, Semiconductors, Healthcare, BFSI, Automotive, Media & Telecom, and Private Equity.
Zinnov isn’t for everyone. It’s for people who want steep learning curves, honest feedback, and the chance to see their work influence real business decisions — not just presentations.
Why Strategy
Zinnov’s Strategy practice is where you help leadership teams define and execute growth agendas using structured, data-backed problem solving—especially in technology services.
In this practice, you’ll get:
- Work on high-impact topics like long-range strategy, positioning, org design, and growth theses.
- Hands-on GTM and revenue acceleration exposure—white space, offering design, account strategy (Zinnov’s KPA framework), channels, and leakage reduction.
- Transformation and performance work including profitability improvement and post-merger integration / 100-day plans.
- Market-facing thought leadership through conferences, leadership roundtables, and co-branded research.
About the Role
As a Principal / Engagement Manager (Strategy), you will own end-to-end delivery of strategy engagements — from shaping ambiguous client asks into structured problem statements to leading teams through research, analysis, and executive-ready recommendations.
This role is designed for a hands-on consulting leader who can operate confidently at CXO and senior leadership levels, drive predictable outcomes across multiple projects in parallel, and build reusable assets that scale delivery quality. In addition to delivery, you will contribute meaningfully to business development, solutioning, and practice development through thought leadership and team capability building.
What You’ll Do
End-to-End Engagement Leadership
- Own project delivery across multiple engagements — scope, timelines, budgets, quality standards, and risk management.
- Translate client priorities into clear workplans, milestones, and executive-aligned outcomes.
- Drive high standards for accuracy, rigor, and client-ready storytelling across deliverables.
Strategy Problem Solving & Advisory
- Lead engagements across growth and transformation themes: market and competitive strategy, positioning, portfolio/offering strategy, org design, location/talent strategy, and operating model decisions.
- Build practical roadmaps grounded in evidence, feasibility, and execution realities.
- Drive strategic alignment across stakeholders and enable decision-making in leadership forums.
Research & Insight Development
- Guide teams on deep secondary and primary research; ensure strong fact bases and defensible analysis.
- Apply structured problem solving to derive sharp insights, patterns, and recommendations.
- Elevate analysis into executive narratives and decision-ready storylines.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders; run structured cadences and executive updates.
- Manage ambiguity, dependencies, risks, and escalations with calm execution rigor.
- Influence outcomes through clarity, trade-off framing, and crisp communication.
Change & Transformation Enablement
- Support strategy-to-execution transitions through structured change management, stakeholder engagement, and adoption planning.
- Drive alignment across complex environments with multiple workstreams and stakeholder density.
Business Development & Solutioning
- Contribute to deal pursuits by shaping proposals/RFPs, participating in client calls, and pitching solutions.
- Design engagement structures — resourcing, effort estimates, travel assumptions, and pricing inputs.
- Build proof points and sales narratives that increase win probability and client confidence.
Practice Development & People Leadership
- Build reusable assets: frameworks, methodologies, capability decks, templates, and thought leadership.
- Lead and coach teams — analytical rigor, storylining, and consulting-grade communication.
- Set execution standards and review discipline to ensure consistently high-quality outputs.
What You Bring
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering) from a top-tier university; MBA/PGDM preferred.
- 10–15+ years of experience in consulting / strategy / transformation with end-to-end delivery ownership.
- Comfort operating at CXO levels and across multi-geo, multi-stakeholder client environments.
Key Skills
- Strong structured problem-solving with excellent research, analytical, and numerical skills.
- High standards for written and visual output quality — crisp, detail-oriented, and executive-ready.
- Hands-on execution mindset with strong delivery ownership and timeline discipline.
- Strong stakeholder management; ability to resolve ambiguity and drive alignment effectively.
- Process orientation and comfort using and customizing tools/tech for delivery at scale.
- High motivation, proactive mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-growing setup.
What Success Looks Like – Strategy
- Multiple engagements delivered end-to-end with predictable timelines, strong quality, and high client confidence.
- Clear, defensible recommendations grounded in rigorous analysis and strong strategic context.
- Executive-ready narratives that enable fast decisions and align stakeholders across teams and geographies.
