Data Scientist (Credit Risk)

  • This is a hybrid role with two team connect days in either our Sydney or Melbourne office.

When you join Zip’s Risk team, you will be putting your name to a variety of business-critical initiatives attached to our ANZ strategy, including uplifting our credit risk strategy and management, and credit decisioning capabilities.

With a broad remit across credit risk strategy and decisioning, forecasting, portfolio analytics and controls monitoring, our Risk Management & Data Science team is a key strategic interface between the business and a varied range of both internal and external stakeholders. 

What you'll own

  • Drive continuous improvement and optimisation of strategies for credit limit allocation.
  • Implement behavioural models to provide optimal decisioning outcomes in line with risk appetite.
  • Improve and maintain automated decisioning for credit limit applications.
  • Create and enhance rules to optimise approval rates and limit provision.
  • Implement rules on the decisioning platform, test and monitor as required.
  • Working with stakeholders to drive key credit risk initiatives across the business.

What you'll bring to the team

  • Experience from a retail banking/consumer finance environment, specifically in Credit Risk.
  • Strong exposure to analytical scripting languages, particularly SQL, and either Python, R or SAS.
  • Experience in developing analytical dashboards using business intelligence tools, such as Tableau.
  • A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
