Zip is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Business Analyst to join our team for a 6 months contract. This role is crucial for documenting the processes and specifications of our innovative consumer financial products.

The ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise in financial services and a strong understanding of regulated consumer credit products and methodologies. You will be a hands-on, self-starting individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently to gather, analyze, and document complex information. 

  • Document Product Specifications: Conduct in-depth analysis and engage with key stakeholders to gather business needs for new and existing consumer credit products. Prepare and maintain detailed business requirements, functional specifications, and process maps.
  • Product Expertise: Provide insights into regulated consumer credit products, including their variety of interest-free and interest-bearing periods, as well as day-to-day payment and collections operations.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively analyse business processes and data to identify and implement opportunities for efficiency and improvement within our consumer financial products.
  • Line 1 Controls: Provide oversight for the operational integrity of our products, ensuring adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with a variety of teams, including product, engineering, operations and credit risk, to ensure requirements are accurately translated into deliverables.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyse business processes and data to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement within our consumer financial product offerings.

What you’ll bring to the team 

  • 10+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, working on successful delivery of significant projects and initiatives within the financial services or FinTech domain, with a strong focus on consumer credit products.
  • Deep expertise in payments and consumer lending operations, including underwriting, collections, hardship programs, payment systems, standards, and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance, operating as a highly valued self-starter with a strong background in consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in an ASX-listed company is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Miro for documentation and workflow mapping.
  • A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
  • The ability to manage and mitigate risks effectively, as risk management is integral to how we operate.
  • A "hands-on" approach with the ability to work independently to get things done.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and practical experience working in an Agile environment.
