As a Second Line Controls Manager, you’ll lead the assessment, testing, and assurance of controls across key operational processes. Your insights will help identify control gaps, uplift risk maturity, and ensure effective management of risk across the business.
Working closely with first-line teams, you’ll provide oversight and challenge, ensuring risks are identified, managed, and escalated appropriately. What you’ll own
- Deliver independent assurance reviews to assess the design and operating effectiveness of key controls across business units
- Provide oversight and challenge to first-line control owners, helping teams proactively identify and manage operational risks
- Support the remediation and closure of control gaps and findings, ensuring improvements are sustainable and well-documented
- Develop and maintain control testing methodologies, plans and reporting aligned with Zip’s Risk Management Framework
- Partner with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance and Operations to strengthen control maturity and uplift awareness of risk and assurance best practice
What you’ll bring to the team
- 5+ years’ experience in risk management, operational risk or controls assurance within financial services, fintech or another regulated environment
- Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks such as COSO or ISO 31000, with practical experience in testing, documenting and improving control
- Excellent analytical, documentation and reporting skills with the ability to translate control insights into actionable business recommendations
- Strong relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge and collaborate effectively across team
- Familiarity with risk tooling or GRC platforms such as ServiceNow, Archer or Workiva is desirable
- A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
