A role in Zip’s Data & AI Squad will see you partner with key stakeholders to supply fast, reliable and future proof data, powering data driven decision making on our biggest and most interesting business challenges.

You’ll develop advanced data science and AI solutions, leveraging machine learning and sophisticated statistical techniques, along with the latest AI technologies. Your goal will be to collaborate closely with cross functional teams to optimise various processes, enhancing operational efficiency and improving the experience for millions of customers.

As a Data Scientist in our Customer Data Science team, you will take ownership of building and delivering impactful models and insights that influence product, marketing and strategic decisions across the business.

What You'll Own

  • Developing and deploying machine learning models that improve customer engagement and optimise business processes
  • Analysing large and complex datasets to uncover actionable insights that drive decision making
  • Designing and running data driven experiments to test hypotheses and continuously improve performance
  • Collaborating with Product and Marketing teams to translate business challenges into scalable data science solutions
  • Communicating insights and recommendations through clear storytelling, visualisations and stakeholder engagement
  • Exploring and applying emerging AI techniques, including LLMs, to drive innovation across the customer experience

What you'll bring to the team

  • Experience working as a Data Scientist or in a similar role, with around 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong programming capability in Python, with experience using libraries such as Pandas, NumPy or scikit learn
  • Solid grounding in statistical analysis and machine learning techniques, including model development and evaluation
  • Experience working with large datasets and writing efficient SQL queries
  • Exposure to modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or dbt is desirable
  • Ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights for both technical and non technical audiences
  • Strong problem solving skills, with a curious and analytical mindset
  • Collaborative approach, with experience working cross functionally, ideally with Product or Marketing teams
  • A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
