Summary:
As a Lead Product Designer at ZipRecruiter, you will play a pivotal role in the creation of new products and features for our Job Seekers. You will be responsible for driving and managing design solutions that meet both business objectives and user needs. This role demands a high level of expertise and influence, as you will be setting new standards for design excellence as well as managing a small team of Product Designers. This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Product Design.
Key Focuses:
- Taking full UX ownership of multiple large-scale and complex product areas, setting strategic direction and ensuring alignment with overall business goals
- Setting the vision for user experience and leading major design initiatives, driving innovation and best practices across the organization
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance design culture that prioritizes talent development
- Establishing clear performance metrics, provide continuous feedback, and implement growth plans to help designers reach their highest potential
- Leading design reviews, workshops, and other team-wide design efforts
- Partnering with User Research team members to ensure success for user research and usability studies
- Taking an iterative approach to design while considering insights from research, A/B testing, and other qualitative methods
- Utilizing your expertise knowledge of Figma and FigJam
- Driving the evolution of design systems
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree or ample experience in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, HCI, Product Design, Interaction Design, Information Design, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of Product Design experience
- Experience managing teams and developing career growth plans for direct reports
- Extensive familiarity with product strategy, information architecture, interaction models, heuristic evaluation, user research, and user journey mapping
- Expertise in creating and maintaining design systems, libraries, and other tools
- Experience creating complex prototypes using Figma, Principle, Framer, code, or other prototyping tools
- A comprehensive portfolio showcasing your work– case studies
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Product Design experience
- An individual who can set high standards for design quality and execution, continuously raising the bar for the team through structured feedback
- Experience in a design leadership role, influencing product strategy and driving large scale initiatives

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000-$205,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and the range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, role-related knowledge and skills, depth of experience, relevant education or training, and additional role-related considerations.
Depending on the position offered, equity, bonuses, commission, or other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
