Zitara Technologies (YCombinator S20) builds predictive battery management software for transportation and energy customers with large deployments. Our customers operate >$100M deployments of batteries in satellites, EVs, and renewable energy storage installations.

 

Our team brings top researchers in physics-based battery algorithms together with seasoned software engineers to build safety-critical firmware and large-scale machine learning systems. We bring with us decades of experience from companies like Tesla, Facebook, and Google.

Role

Zitara operates at the intersection of energy storage and application. Our software delivers the high-performance models necessary for our customers to operate their battery systems safely and profitably. We are looking for an MBA Intern to help in addressing both the strategic and tactical challenges facing an early stage start-up. 

 

This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-growth startup environment, working directly with executive leadership. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for clean energy and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. Responsibilities

Support Executive and Sales Team Operations

  • Assist in product marketing initiatives, including market research and competitive analysis
  • Conduct market sizing exercises to identify growth opportunities
  • Develop and maintain sales operations processes and tools
  • 1H 2024 Deliverable: Create a comprehensive market analysis report for our key product offerings

 

Financial and Strategic Planning

  • Build and maintain financial models to support business decision-making
  • Assist in creating investor presentations and board meeting materials
  • Support fundraising efforts by preparing financial projections and pitch decks
  • 1H 2024 Deliverable: Develop a robust financial model for our next funding round

 

Marketing and Communications

  • Contribute to marketing strategy development and execution
  • Create high-quality presentations and sales collateral
  • Assist in crafting management communications for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain and grow prospective customer database

 

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with various departments to gather insights and data for strategic initiatives
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for business improvement

 

Required Qualifications

  • Current MBA student or recent MBA graduate
  • 2-5+ years of professional experience in consulting, finance, or related business operations
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling using Excel or Google Sheets
  • Excellent PowerPoint/Google Slides skills for creating impactful presentations
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
  • Demonstrated interest in renewables and addressing climate change
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to make “order out of chaos”

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Prior experience in a startup environment 
  • Knowledge of the energy or cleantech industry
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales operations processes
