We are seeking a Senior Subcontract Administrator to lead and manage the subcontracting function across our growing portfolio of U.S. Government (DoD and non-DoD) and commercial programs. This is a strategic, hands-on role that requires deep knowledge of federal subcontracting regulations, a strong business acumen, and the ability to operate cross-functionally in a high-growth, mission-driven environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Subcontract Management

  • Lead the full lifecycle of subcontract administration (cradle-to-grave), including planning, solicitation, negotiation, award, administration, and closeout
  • Collaborate with Contracts, Program Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to develop sourcing strategies aligned with technical and contractual requirements
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex subcontract agreements, including NDAs, teaming agreements, and modifications
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for subcontractors on contractual, performance, and compliance matters

Compliance & Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations, including FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and flow-down clauses from prime contracts
  • Analyze subcontractor proposals for risk, cost reasonableness, and alignment with contract terms
  • Maintain documentation to support government audits, reviews, and internal compliance activities
  • Proactively identify and mitigate subcontractor-related risks to cost, schedule, or performance

Performance Monitoring & Supplier Engagement

  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure adherence to scope, quality, and delivery timelines
  • Lead subcontractor performance reviews and corrective action planning as needed
  • Track and manage subcontract funding, deliverables, and period of performance
  • Foster strong supplier relationships to support long-term program and company success

Process Improvement & Leadership

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of subcontract management tools, templates, policies, and systems
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members or cross-functional stakeholders on subcontracting best practices
  • Support proposal efforts by developing subcontractor pricing inputs, risk assessments, and compliance documentation
  • Assist in scaling the subcontract function as the company expands into new programs and markets

 

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of subcontract or procurement experience in aerospace, defense, or government contracting
  • Proven experience administering subcontracts under DoD/government prime contracts
  • Deep knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and government acquisition regulations and practices

Technical Competence

  • Strong understanding of subcontract pricing, cost analysis, and terms negotiation
  • Experience managing complex subcontract portfolios with diverse performance requirements
  • Proficiency in federal procurement systems and tools (e.g., SAM.gov, PIEE)
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks including DCAA, DCMA, and CPSR

Compensation

$120,000 – 148,000
