As a Director of Technical Training Development, you will lead the strategy and execution of our global product training programs. This is a high-impact leadership role, where you’ll guide a team of content developers and learning experience designers to create world-class training for Zscaler’s customers, partners, and internal teams. You'll collaborate across the business to ensure that every training initiative aligns with the evolving needs of our audiences and the strategic direction of our products. You'll report to the VP, Zscaler Academy. You will be responsible for:
- Leading Training Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product training strategy across all Zscaler offerings for customers, partners, and employees.
- Training Content Leadership: Oversee the creation of innovative, high-impact training experiences that support user adoption and align with company goals.
- Team Development: Inspire, mentor, and lead a high-performing global team of instructional designers and technical content creators to drive accountability in project execution—ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and aligned with business priorities.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, and IT to ensure training content is technically accurate, accessible, and strategically aligned.
- Audience-Centric Approach: Deeply understand the roles, needs, and challenges of our target learners to develop relevant and role-specific training solutions. Keeping high standards of instructional design, training platforms, formats, in mind to elevate learning impact.
What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- Experience and Education: 10+ years in technical training delivery within the tech or cybersecurity industry, with at least 10 years leading global content development teams. With a Bachelor's degree required (Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Education-related field)
- L&D Expertise: Proven instructional design leadership and deep understanding of content development, learning science, and assessment strategies.
- Customer-Focused: Passion for delivering exceptional learning experiences that drive product mastery and customer success.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and lead diverse teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments. Must have Strong decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills with a track record of aligning learning programs to business objectives.
- Tools & Technologies: Hands-on experience with tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Rise, Camtasia, Vyond, Bitly, and Codex.
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- MS degree in a related field
- Experience working in Cybersecurity or Networking company

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
Base Pay Range
$168,000 - $240,000 USD
