We are looking for a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager to lead a core part of the Digital Experience product engineering team. Zscaler Digital Experience provides end-to-end visibility into the digital experience of users, wherever they are. Zscaler Digital Experience measures performance across devices, networks, and applications to quickly pinpoint issues and help IT teams keep users productive. We do this at a massive scale, combining endpoint telemetry, synthetic monitoring, and cloud analytics to turn raw signals into actionable insights. Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, Agentic IT Ops & Digital Experience, you will you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading, growing, and mentoring a high-performing team of 6–12 software engineers, including hiring, performance management, and career development
  • Owning end-to-end delivery of critical Digital Experience components (e.g., endpoint/agent, data plane, analytics services), driving roadmap and execution in partnership with Product Management
  • Ensuring your services are highly reliable, secure, and scalable, guiding architecture, design, and code reviews aligned with long-term platform goals
  • Championing observability (metrics, logs, traces, SLIs/SLOs) and partner with SRE, Support, and Customer Success to reduce incidents and improve product quality
  • Collaborating across data platforms, client/endpoint, and UX teams to deliver cohesive, end-to-end digital experience workflows

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 8+ years of overall software engineering experience, including 3+ years directly managing engineering teams in a product development environment
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale, highly available distributed systems or observability / monitoring / networking products
  • Strong background in systems / backend development using languages such as C, C++, Go, or Java, and experience with cloud-native microservices and event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
  • Demonstrated ability to set technical direction, drive predictable execution, and work effectively with Product Management, QA, SRE, and Support, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Prior experience leading teams in APM, NPM, DEM, observability, or endpoint/network monitoring domains
  • Familiarity with data pipelines and ETL for telemetry/observability data, and modern analytics platforms such as Azure Data Explorer (ADX), BigQuery, and data flow / stream-processing frameworks
  • Experience applying AI/ML to observability, anomaly detection, or automated troubleshooting
