Role 

We are looking for a Sr. Staff Software Development Engineer to join our Engineering Strategy, Planning & Analytics team. This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Engineering Strategy, Planning & Analytics. Our Engineering team built the world's largest cloud security platform from the ground up, and we keep building. With more than 100 patents and big plans for enhancing services and increasing our global footprint, the team has made us and our multi-tenant architecture today's cloud security leader, with more than 15 million users in 185 countries. What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

  • Design and operate scalable data pipelines to quantify SaaS engineering excellence across delivery, quality, velocity, reliability, and security
  • Define metrics frameworks such as DORA or SPACE, translating technical trade-offs into executive insights and building actionable dashboards 
  • Analyze SDLC and DevSecOps data for high-fidelity signals, validating data integrity and resolving source ambiguity
  • Partner with engineering leaders to identify bottlenecks, run analyses, and drive measurable process improvements
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for data engineering, visualization, and governance

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 8+ years of software development experience with at least 3 years focused on building data platforms or pipelines at SaaS scale
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Deep interest in the process of software development and a commitment to driving continuous systemic improvement
  • Proficiency in AI-assisted development using Python, Go, or Java, with expertise in SQL, database design, data modeling, and statistical analysis
  • Experience with SDLC/DevOps tooling (GitLab, CI, Jira), metrics frameworks, cloud data stacks (AWS/GCP/Azure), and custom web dashboards

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Expertise in instrumenting quality and reliability signals, metric taxonomy, lineage, and metadata catalogs using dbt or similar transformations
  • Strong executive UX and product sense with the ability to use data storytelling to drive outcome-focused OKRs
  • Proven track record in executive communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring technical teams
