San Jose, California, USA

About Zscaler

Zscaler accelerates digital transformation so our customers can be more agile, efficient, resilient, and secure. Our cloud native Zero Trust Exchange platform protects thousands of customers from cyberattacks and data loss by securely connecting users, devices, and applications in any location.

Here, impact in your role matters more than title and trust is built on results. We believe in transparency and value constructive, honest debate—we’re focused on getting to the best ideas, faster. We build high-performing teams that can make an impact quickly and with high quality. To do this, we are building a culture of execution centered on customer obsession, collaboration, ownership and accountability.

We value high-impact, high-accountability with a sense of urgency where you’re enabled to do your best work and embrace your potential. If you’re driven by purpose, thrive on solving complex challenges and want to make a positive difference on a global scale, we invite you to bring your talents to Zscaler and help shape the future of cybersecurity.

We’re looking for an Internal Communications Specialist to join our Employee Engagement team. You will be a key storyteller for our 8,000+ global employees, connecting the dots to help them understand the big picture and their vital role in it. We focus equally on communicating specific programs (the hardware) and our company culture (the software), partnering across the organization to ensure our values are a tangible, lived experience rather than just words on a poster. You will be based in San Jose, CA working a hybrid schedule (in-office Tuesday through Thursday).

What You’ll Do (Role Expectations)

Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, your responsibilities include:

  • Creating and executing global communication strategies that balance program-specific launches with cultural initiatives to drive a cohesive and engaging employee experience
  • Partnering with People & Culture teams to ensure company values, behaviors, and mindsets are integrated into daily workflows and felt by employees around the world
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, translating complex initiatives and organizational changes into clear, relevant narratives that resonate at scale
  • Owning high-impact communication projects from strategy through execution, utilizing a mix of digital platforms and creative storytelling to reach a diverse global audience
  • Measuring the success of internal campaigns and pivot strategies as needed based on data to continuously improve how we engage and inspire our workforce

Who You Are (Success Profile)

  • You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it. You thrive in a dynamic environment, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance, but as the raw material to build something meaningful
  • You operate with urgency. You understand that in a high-growth environment, speed and quality are not mutually exclusive. You have a relentless focus on execution and a bias for action, delivering high-impact results quickly to win for the customer and the team.
  • You are a problem-solver. You seek out challenges because you are energized by finding solutions, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact.
  • You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback—knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.
  • You are a learner. You have a true growth mindset and never stop developing yourself, actively seeking feedback to become a better partner and a stronger teammate. You love what you do and you do it with purpose.

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related field
  • 5+ years experience developing internal communications or culture communications, preferably in the technology space; with at least 3+ years experience providing communications guidance to leaders and internal clients
  • A proven track record of creating communication strategies across multiple channels and creating digital content and activations that drive engagement, get results and align with our brand and voice
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, and strong organizational skills and attention to detail while managing a complex workload
  • Strong collaboration and ability to advise and influence clients in a way that builds trust and confidence

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience guiding organizations through change
  • Proficiency in using AI tools to improve communication processes and output

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
