We are looking for a Senior Compliance & Investigations Counsel to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Compliance and Responsibility, you will take ownership of building our legal investigations function while advancing critical compliance activities, from partner risk management to our training and awareness efforts. This is a key role on a growing team with a mission to embed integrity across our global operations. The position can be hybrid at our Santa Clara, CA headquarters or fully remote in the US.

What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

  • Build our legal investigations function by collaborating closely with key stakeholders in our Finance and People & Culture teams to fine-tune investigation procedures and identify use cases for technology and AI to drive greater transparency, efficiency, robustness and awareness among employees, senior management and the Board
  • Take ownership of embedding our “speak up” & “listen up” values more deeply into our corporate culture while ensuring compliance with requirements of evolving global whistleblower laws and regulations
  • Manage the day-to-day operation and governance of our AI-enabled channel partner due diligence program, build additional analytics capabilities to monitor channel partner risk, and collaborate closely with our partners team to efficiently address legal compliance risks that may arise as the enterprise channel partner program continues to grow
  • Oversee and drive continuous improvement of our controls around gifts & business courtesies and conflicts of interest, including by fine-tuning how we utilize our compliance technology and developing of training and guidance approaches that optimize employee awareness
  • Revolutionize our formal training and awareness program to better measure and maximize impact while addressing concerns created by legacy approaches (such as learner seat time and administrative burden)

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 7+ years practicing as an attorney with significant experience in corporate investigations and demonstrated expertise in anti-corruption law and practice
  • Demonstrated experience in designing investigations or other compliance processes and implementing them using technology solutions
  • Deep familiarity with the theory and practice of driving compliance within large corporate organizations and proficiency in global legal regimes addressing legal compliance obligations
  • Basic familiarity with business processes relevant to public technology companies, including channel sales, financial and other reporting, procurement processes, systems development and maintenance, and talent acquisition and management
  • Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools, with a proven history of integrating new technologies to enhance daily workflows and augment problem-solving

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • A blend of experience working for either a law firm or as a government prosecutor and in an in-house role, preferably for a technology company
  • Subject matter expertise or demonstrated proficiency in competition law, fraud, conflicts of interest, AI governance, government procurement or contracting regulations or related compliance areas
  • Proven ability to provide pragmatic, risk-calibrated legal advice that aligns with the commercial goals and operational realities of a fast-paced, publicly-traded technology company
  • Demonstrated history of integrating AI tools to enhance legal workflows and compliance monitoring

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$171,500 - $245,000 USD
