Position Overview:

Do you want to define what online PLAY means?  We're currently looking for a developer intern to join our Poker team in Austin.

Our mission is to “Connect the World through Games” by building a truly social experience that makes the world a better place.  To be successful in this role you will have a passion for games, a high level of integrity, great technical depth and skills, and a strong desire to build successful software.

Zynga developers don't just develop some of the world's largest games, we deliver them on some of the world's largest infrastructures.  We blaze trails in all facets of game design, web technologies, and massive scalability.  Zynga faces a number of challenges unique to our situation:  the large data requirements of online gaming require us to continually push boundaries to discover the best solutions.  Our developers are willing to pick up any of the languages, technologies, or methodologies necessary to smite a challenge. If a conventional solution doesn't exist, we innovate as necessary!

What You'll Do: 

  • Work with an experienced team to help build innovative new features
  • Enhance, optimize, fix and harden existing features
  • Brainstorm new ideas for features, optimizations, and improvements with the team
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and teams in a fast-paced startup-like environment
  • Learn the latest technologies and best practices with your own mentor

What You Bring: 

  • Enrolled in computer science, engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals including data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with one or more of: JavaScript/Html, C#, Golang, another statically typed language (Java, C/C++)
  • Familiarity with agile practices and overall development lifecycle
  • Experience with version control and continuous integration tools
  • Experience creating user interfaces 
  • Knowledge of Unity or another game engine is a bonus
  • Passion for games and making great products
