We are seeking a talented Production Assistant to join our dynamic team at The Mel Robbins Podcast. This person will play an important role in the creation of captivating content that inspires and motivates millions of people around the world.

You will be a key member of our podcast production team, assisting with various tasks throughout the production cycle—from studio setup, to organizing and distributing any necessary scripts, notes, or materials to the host and production team. This includes ensuring that any visual aids, cue cards, or research documents are ready and in place, supplies for the studio day are prepped and ready, as well as other administrative tasks such as food or coffee orders, team communication, and schedule management. 

The ideal candidate has a desire for learning and growth, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and is a self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact between the Vermont and Boston teams, ensuring seamless communication and prompt handling of all updates and requests.
  • Scripting Support: Support Producers in their creation, workshopping, and finalization of podcast scripts.
  • Team Communication: Establish and maintain an efficient communication system to keep the Vermont team informed on updates, changes, and schedules.
  • Food & Drink Management
    • Coffee Orders: Coordinate and manage all coffee/tea requests.
    • Meals: Collect team food requests, place orders, and manage pick-up or delivery for lunch and dinner.
    • Reservations: Book team dinner reservations as necessary.
  • Space Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace at the start and end of day. Also responsible for swapping out fresh flowers for every production, assist with gear as needed, etc.  
  • Production Days: Maintain a quiet set, ensuring phones are silent/do not disturb, dogs/packages/housekeeper, windows and blinds are closed before recording sessions.
  • Production Schedule Management: Update, manage and distribute the production schedule, ensuring the team is aware of any changes or updates through daily refreshes of the whiteboard schedule.
  • Time Management: Provide the team with time warnings as scheduling blocks near their end, and inform them of what tasks are upcoming.
  • Snacks & Breaks: Ensure regular snack breaks and drink refills for the team to maintain energy and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience in audio or video production, podcasting, or a related field. Experience in a Production Assistant role is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equal professional experience.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with microphones, cameras, and lighting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments at once.
  • A go-getter with a can-do, solutions-driven work ethic.
  • Excellent typing skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, technology-driven production environment.
  • Fast learner and tech savvy with an ability to troubleshoot and problem solve on the fly. 
  • A passion for personal growth and the topics shared on The Mel Robbins Podcast – you believe in the work and are motivated by the difference you’re making in people’s lives.
  • A team player who wants to be part of making the company better as a whole.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite.
  • You need to type at least 75 WPM 
  • In commuting distance to Manchester, Vermont or willing to relocate.
