Growth Designer
7shifts is an all-in-one team management software platform designed for the restaurant industry. We’re used by 1 in 10 restaurant workers and over 50,000 restaurants across North America. Our mission is to simplify Team Management and improve performance for restaurants, with a long-term vision of elevating what restaurant teams can achieve together.
As a Growth Designer at 7shifts, you’ll design and execute experiments that drive conversion, activation, and engagement across key product experiences. Reporting to the Manager, Product Design, you’ll work closely with product managers, marketers, engineers, and analysts to identify opportunities and deliver data-informed solutions. You thrive on curiosity, iteration, and outcome-focused work, leveraging user insights and performance metrics to guide decisions. Balancing business and user needs, you’ll rapidly prototype, test, and optimize experiences without compromising usability or quality. Your impact will be seen through measurable improvements in growth and performance.
We’re building an inclusive work environment that is representative of the diverse industry we have the pleasure of serving, and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
What you’ll do:
- Design and execute experiments to improve key growth and expansion metrics (e.g., signup rate, onboarding completion, retention)
- Own and optimize user journeys from first touch to engaged user — landing pages, onboarding and setup flows, paywalls, and more
- Collaborate with product managers, marketers, analysts, and engineers to ship tests with measurable outcomes
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to generate insights, validate hypotheses, and guide design decisions
- Design rapid prototypes and iterate based on real user behaviour and test results
- Balance speed and quality, focusing on impact without sacrificing user experience
- Champion growth thinking within the design team, advocating for experimentation and data literacy
- Leverage and contribute to our Design system throughout the design process
What you bring:
- Experience in product or UX/UI design, with a focus on growth, experimentation, or performance-driven design
- A portfolio showcasing data-informed design decisions and measurable impact on key product or business metrics
- Deep understanding of user psychology, conversion funnels, and behaviour-driven design principles
- Experience designing and iterating on landing pages, onboarding flows, paywalls, or other key growth surfaces
- Familiarity with A/B testing tools (e.g., Optimizely, Amplitude, or similar) and the ability to interpret test results to inform design decisions
- Collaborative communicator who works cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and data teams, effectively advocating for both user needs and business goals through clear storytelling
- Brings a growth mindset and a bias toward action, with a passion for rapid prototyping, experimentation, and solving problems through design, data, and iteration
