Now, we are on an unstoppable mission for an Associate Director, Data Science, to join our team. In this role, you’ll be working at the cutting edge of marketing analytics to back-end data collection and front-end data. This unique role will allow you to contribute to the structure and process of data aggregation and craft templates for final visualization and analyses of data collected. You’ll be a key part of AbelsonTaylor’s mission to use data to unlock critical optimizations for our clients and drive better outcomes for healthcare patients by turning data into insights and compelling stories that shape marketing strategy.  

What You'll Do 

Data Collection & Manipulation: 

  • Automate Data Collection: Automates data collection from 3rd party vendors for display, SEM, OLV, Native, Social, Content, and email, among others.
  • Data Integration: Structures and integrates data from multiple channels and sources into a single warehouse.
  • Quality Assurance: Puts strong QA processes in place to assess data quality.
  • Data Cleaning & Mining: Cleans and mines data to provide the highest quality insights given available data and guides clients in prioritizing data sources.
  • A/B Testing: Guides the setup of A/B testing and other applicable experiments.
  • Tagging Oversight: Able to oversee internal and 3rd party tagging setup for websites and other brand assets to ensure smooth data collection and aggregation.
  • Platform Proficiency: Comfortable using a variety of marketing analytics/CRM platforms including Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and Salesforce. 

Data Interpretation & Data-Driven Insights: 

  • Dashboard Development: Deep experience in developing dashboards and translating client needs into visualizations.
  • Measurement Plans: Creates marketing measurement plans with core KPIs that can be fulfilled via automated data collection, aggregation, and analysis.
  • Clear Presentation: Presents results of modeling and analysis clearly and compellingly to non-experts.
  • Data Storytelling: Tells a story when presenting data, with visualizations that support conclusions and insights.
  • Actionable Insights: Provides data-driven insights that directly support marketing leadership decision-making at the brand or portfolio level.
  • Client Value: Answers “so what?” questions, demonstrating the value of analyses to clients and providing clear recommendations on what to do with the information and data provided.
  • Junior Training: Able to instruct junior department members on how to examine, clean, and use data.
  • Strategic Thought Partner: Thought partner in thinking through marketing decisions with the ability to structure business-relevant analyses.

  • Client Guidance: Able to guide clients on the best metrics and data to use to evaluate marketing programs.

  • Hire, Coach, and Develop Team Members: Assign projects to balance workloads and challenge team members' skills, ensuring projects showcase the agency's capabilities.
  • Provide Regular Feedback: Offer formal and informal feedback to direct reports to help grow their creative sensibilities and progress in their craft.
  • Perform Team Evaluations: Participate in performance reviews and provide coaching to create growth plans for direct reports as needed.
  • Infuse Psychological Safety: Facilitate participation, inclusion, and diversity of perspectives on your team and throughout the agency. 

What Makes You A Great Fit

  • Advanced Analytics Tools: Strong knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages to clean and analyze data sets from multiple data sources. Experience with R or Python preferred.
  • A/B Testing Experience: Experience with A/B testing and developing methodologies to measure program/marketing outcomes.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressively complex experience in marketing analytics.
  • Datorama Expertise: Datorama experience strongly preferred; Improvado or Domo experience also favorable.
  • Visualization Tools: Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker desired.
  • Platform Proficiency: Expert in Google Analytics and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • UTM Best Practices: Understanding of UTM best practices.
