Summary

The Senior Designer will bring AccuWeather’s products and services to life through engaging and inspired design, supporting national campaigns, marketing initiatives, and brand storytelling. As AccuWeather’s first in-house designer, this role will establish the foundation for a growing internal design function and collaborate closely with marketing, communications, ad sales, product, and AccuWeather For Business (AFB).

The ideal candidate is a self-starting collaborator, problem solver, and communicator who can generate ideas and execute them with excellence. This role will also play a critical part in shaping design processes, brand guidelines, and scalable creative systems, with the opportunity to help build and mentor a future creative team over time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide forward-thinking creative design for a range of applications from digital to physical.
  • Design a wide range of marketing support materials including digital ads, email campaigns, social media content, event collateral, and sales enablement assets.
  • Bring AccuWeather’s brand, products, and services to life visually across consumer and B2B touchpoints.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to ensure brand consistency across initiatives.
  • Translate branding and marketing strategies into exceptional creative concepts.
  • Prepare and present creative at internal check-ins and client presentations to validate designs.
  • Regularly present design concepts to leadership and cross-functional partners, influencing campaign direction and brand storytelling.
  • Own the role of primary designer on multiple projects at once and prepare/present to internal stakeholders.
  • Work with outside vendors to ensure quality final productions.
  • Help establish scalable design processes, templates, and brand guidelines to support future team growth.
  • Stay current with design trends and emerging technologies, including AI-powered creative tools, to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional design experience; in-house or agency background preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Expert in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Hands-on experience with motion graphics and/or video editing (After Effects, Premiere) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools (e.g., generative image, layout, or video) and ability to integrate them into workflows.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital-first marketing campaigns, typography, and brand design.
  • Exceptional eye for detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Salary range

$100,000 - $115,000 based on location
