Job Role
Adams Clinical is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide flexible, as-needed clinical support across our Philadelphia area research site (19104). This role works under the supervision of our physician Principal Investigators and Clinical Operations leadership on the conduct of pharmaceutical-sponsored clinical trials in accordance with FDA regulations and GCP guidelines.
Typical tasks will include, but are not limited to, IV catheterization and drug infusion, injections, phlebotomy, medical record and clinical results review, medication reconciliation, and medical liaising. The ideal candidate will have recent injection experience and must be comfortable working in a clinical research environment, following study protocols, and maintaining clear and timely documentation in accordance with study protocols and applicable research and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Availability to provide on-site clinical support at least 2 weekdays per week, as needed to support protocol-required activities and participant visits. The expected frequency of availability may be adjusted based on applicable study protocols, site needs, and operational requirements.
- IV placement, initiation and monitoring of IV infusions in accordance with the study protocol
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections in accordance with study protocols
- Support the preparation and handling of investigational product, as needed and as permitted by the study protocol, site procedures, and applicable requirements
- Perform physical exams and other protocol-required assessments within scope of practice
- Perform clinical review and assessment of protocol-required results and clinical data (e.g., laboratory results, ECGs, and vital signs) in collaboration with site Principal Investigators
- Identify and escalate clinically significant findings, changes in participant condition, and potential reactions to study dosing, including those that may impact participant safety or subsequent dosing, in collaboration with the site Principal Investigators
- Assist with difficult phlebotomy and IV placement for blood collection, as needed
- Review medical records and reconcile relevant information with patient-reported history
- Assist with collection and documentation of adverse events (AEs), concomitant medications, medical history
- Assist with identification, documentation, and reporting of Serious Adverse Events (SAEs), including required regulatory/IRB documentation
- Provide on-site clinical support during emergency situations, as needed
- Document clinical assessments, procedures, and participant-related information accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with study protocols and applicable requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and advanced clinical degree appropriate to Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant practice required
- Current, unrestricted Pennsylvania RN license and Pennsylvania CRNP certification, with current national certification in the applicable NP specialty; OR current, unrestricted Pennsylvania PA license and registration and NCCPA certification (PA-C) as a Physician Assistant required
- 2+ years of experience as an NP or PA preferred
- Minimum requirement of 1 year of experience administering Botox® or other neurotoxin injections, including treatment of at least 2 patients or completion of 8 treatment sessions. Other relevant injection experience may be considered (e.g., dermatology-related injection experience)
- BOTOX® injection experience for the treatment of chronic migraine is preferred
- BLS/CPR certification preferred
- Previous clinical research experience preferred, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow study protocols and established clinical procedures while maintaining clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation
Hours:
This is a per diem/PRN position, with hours scheduled based on study and clinical needs. Candidates must have the availability to provide on-site clinical support at least 2 weekdays per week, as needed to support protocol-required activities and participant visits. The expected frequency of availability may be adjusted based on applicable study protocols, site needs, and operational requirements.
Pay: $75-87 per hour commensurate with experience
