The Role
We’re building a scalable, tax-efficient trading & rebalancing platform for wealth management firms of all sizes. The platform will target sophisticated rebalancing strategies across equities, mutual funds, and fixed-income products and send trades to be completed in the market.
We’re looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Staff Engineer for our Trading suite of products—including Rebalancing, Order Management System (OMS), and Investment Book of Record (IBOR). In this role, you will be a key technical leader, partnering with other staff and senior engineers to guide the technical direction and architecture for the Trading platform. You will play a significant role in driving complex, long-term technical designs from concept to delivery, ensuring our solutions are scalable, resilient, and secure. You will leverage your deep expertise in software design patterns and distributed systems to solve challenging problems and pioneer the adoption of new technologies. While you will educate and empower other engineers, this is fundamentally a hands-on technical leadership role where you will work closely with product and design teams to deliver exceptional products for our clients.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with senior engineering peers to guide the architectural design and technical direction for the Trading suite of products
- Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable solutions on cloud platforms, with a strong focus on AWS
- Play a key role in the execution of complex, long-term technical projects, from planning and scoping through to delivery
- Mentor, coach, and empower other engineers, contributing to an inclusive and high-performing team culture
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to ensure teams are delivering long-term value for our users
- Amplify your technical ability by empowering your peers and contributing to code reviews and technical designs
- Research and drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices to drive innovation
- Our engineering team primarily works in Java, Python, React, and Ember, and we use Agile methodologies to deliver impactful business outcomes
Who You Are
- Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering

Must have good experience working with Java and at least one Java application framework e.g. Spring, Spring boot, Quarkus.

Must have experience with SQL databases and writing efficient SQL queries.

Must have experience working with event driven frameworks like Kafka
- You have extensive experience in software development, including building backend services in a professional environment
- You have a deep and expert knowledge of software design patterns, API design, and the software development lifecycle
- Proven ability to influence technical direction and make significant contributions to the architecture of complex, distributed systems
- Expertise in cloud platforms, preferably AWS
- You have a track record of amplifying your impact by mentoring other engineers and collaborating effectively within a team of senior peers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and drive clarity when objectives are not yet fully defined
- Experience in the financial industry or wealth management
Important Note: This role requires working from our Pune office 3 days a week (hybrid work model)
