Software Engineer

This team is seeking a Software Engineer responsible for developing ground and flight software for missions to the moon and beyond. This position is open to U.S. Persons only (U.S. citizens, or lawful permanent residents), as required by applicable laws and regulations.

 This position includes the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Participate in the full software development life cycle (SDLC) including requirements, implementation, testing, integration, and mission operations.
  • Work with aerospace engineering staff to develop operational and performance requirements and ensure the final solution meets their needs.
  • Document findings and communicate results to engineering and program management as well as customers and stakeholders.

A successful candidate must have the following:

  • Demonstrable skills with C++
  • High level language knowledge (python, java)
  • Understanding of best practices with revision control systems (git, perforce, cvs,..)
  • Understanding of object-oriented concepts
  • User-level linux knowledge
  • Ability to solve complex problems creatively with minimal supervision/collaboration.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong desire to understand concepts and learn/grow professionally - not just "do the work".
  • Ability to work well independently and with small teams
  • Positive attitude towards challenges

A successful candidate should have some or all of the following:

  • Experience with gitlab CI/CD.
  • Working knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS / EC-2.
  • Experience with embedded software.
  • Aerospace/spacecraft systems domain knowledge.
  • Experience with AI/ML.
  • Knowledge of software lifecycle and development methodologies.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2-8 years of relevant software development experience.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Ability to work in the Westminster, CO office 3-5 days/week
  • Applicants must be a US Person (citizen or Green Card Holder/permanent resident, or protected individual)
  • Highly desired to be eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary Range:  $92,000 - $130,000.  The posted salary range reflects the expected compensation for this role based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications. Candidates with less experience or fewer directly related qualifications may receive an offer near the lower end of the range.
