Head of Partner Solution Engineering - Americas  

Adyen's Product Partnerships team drives outbound distribution of Adyen’s products to our merchants through partners and is pivotal to Adyen’s growth. We focus on scalable, robust and future-proof partner integrations to unlock Adyen’s full potential for our joint merchants. We have strong partnerships in place for Digital (e.g. Salesforce, Shopify, Zuora) and Unified Commerce (e.g. Oracle, Microsoft, NCR). A significant share of Adyen’s merchants use a partner platform to integrate with Adyen.

The Product Partnerships team focuses on our strategic technology and service partners, ensuring seamless and scalable integrations for our mutual customers. This team collaborates closely with various internal departments (e.g., Commercial Partnerships and Product) and works externally with merchants and partners to develop best-in-class integrations.

The Product Partnerships team primarily:

  • Ensures that all technical aspects of the partner’s integration with Adyen are best-in-class and built for scale. Knowledge about the ecosystem, system architecture, technology integrations and the vertical are needed to make the integration scalable. The integration needs to be robust, secure and future-proof
  • Establishes and maintains a healthy and strategic relationship with strategic partners, e.g. co-creating product roadmap, pilot new features and organize continuous feedback
  • Working closely with Adyen’s product, implementation management and support teams to improve and optimize our product offering for partners and customers
  • Streamlines the customer onboarding process, to enable rapid access to Adyen Payments when a merchant has signed an agreement to use Adyen through the partner platform
  • Explores new unique co-development opportunities to give a competitive edge to the partner’s integration with Adyen and discover new solutions to address common merchant issues
  • Stays up to date with current payment technology and regulations that are applicable to our merchants

We are establishing a Product Partnerships hub in Chicago, which will serve as the base for this role (one of Adyen’s global product hubs). The global Product Partnerships team comprises Product Partner Managers (PPMs) located in Amsterdam, São Paulo, San Francisco, and New York.

What you will do: 

  • Build an industry-leading product partnerships organization that identifies and leverages synergies within the partner ecosystem to add value for Adyen’s merchants
  • Co-lead Adyen’s global Product Partnerships go-to-market strategy and execution, working closely with the Head of Product Partnerships, EMEA
  • Working together with Adyen’s product and commercial leadership to influence Adyen’s roadmap and help partners develop differentiated offerings leveraging Adyen’s payments platform
  • Manage the Product Partner Manager (PPM) team in the Americas region, setting them up for success
  • Guide your team in the rollout and development of new Adyen products in collaboration with our partners
  • Oversee escalations and ensure timely resolutions by coordinating with the appropriate internal and external teams
  • Serve as a senior executive stakeholder to our partners, providing strategic and consultative advice to influence their product roadmap and payment strategy
  • Personally manage one medium-sized partner to maintain hands-on experience and insight

Who you are:

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, implementation or solution engineering preferably in Payments, Big/Fin Tech
  • 6+ years of people leadership experience
  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • Experience with payments is preferred
  • Experience with partnerships is required
  • Experienced in building and managing relationships with internal and external senior business leaders
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and an experienced presenter
  • Adept at managing a (remote) team and fostering a collaborative environment
  • Comfortable and self-sufficient operating within a complex global environment
  • You are a quick learner, passionate about technology and like to take a ‘launch fast and iterate’ approach
  • You love to act as a mentor and help guide talent to make optimal decisions
  • You take pride in putting your team first, you value teams over ego
