Senior Java Engineer - CAPE - Customer Area Platform Experience

About the Team 

At Adyen, the Customer Area allows our platforms to configure their integration, troubleshoot issues for their customers, and gain insights about their business performance—without requiring an API integration. The Customer Area – Platform Experience (CAPE) team governs the platform customer journey within the Customer Area.

As a core part of our customers’ daily business flow, CAPE offers a unique opportunity within Adyen. Our work spans across the critical parts of a platform customer's lifecycle, including onboarding, fund allocation, payouts, banking flows, and much more. Additionally, CAPE has a customer-facing perspective, providing opportunities to meet directly with customers on a regular basis to understand their needs and challenges.

As Adyen expands its platform footprint, low-code solutions like CAPE will play an increasingly important role. Some of the challenges ahead of us include:

  • Scaling our platform to keep up with Adyen’s astronomic growth.
  • Exposing critical business insights to platform customers.
  • Enabling rapid iteration in the Customer Area for others looking to build for our platform customers.

Job requirements

Must

  • Skilled with Java, web services, REST APIs, streaming and SQL/Postgresql
  • Strong proponent of scalability and reliability experience with testing and monitoring
  • Enjoy working in a cross-function team with roles like Data Science, Frontend, Product and Design
  • Interest in listening directly to customers using both quantitative and qualitative means
  • Experience mentoring other developers and leading ambiguous, challenging projects

Nice to haves

  • Exposure to frontend development frameworks like Vue or React
  • Previous experience with Elasticsearch
  • Experience using big data technologies like Airflow and Spark to create products
  • Development with an A/B Testing or UX Analytics strategy

These roles are based out of our Amsterdam office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
