Organisation
Anthos Fund & Asset Management is a value-based asset manager that stewards capital for professional investors who want to create a bigger impact together. We do this by responsibly managing capital in line with the values of sustainability, human dignity, and good corporate citizenship.
Founded nearly 100 years ago to manage the assets of the Brenninkmeijer family, Anthos today also welcomes like-minded investors. We provide investment management and advisory services across public and private markets, including equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity, and alternative investments.
Anthos is part of COFRA, a sixth-generation family-owned group of investment platforms and businesses active in asset management, private equity, real estate, retail, clean energy and sustainable food. Across all its activities, COFRA is guided by a shared ambition: to be a force for good in society and the environment.
The Role
Shape the future of our Operations function
As Fund Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our fund financials while helping to develop a more data-driven and scalable Operations function.
Working in an outsourced operating model, you'll oversee and challenge the outputs of our fund administrator, strengthen financial controls and reporting, and support the management of both public and private market funds.
This is more than a traditional fund Controller role. You'll combine financial expertise with process improvement, data and technology to help build a more efficient, scalable and future-ready operating model.
Additionally, you'll
- Ensure accurate and timely fund financials across both public and private market funds, playing a key role in our Independent NAV Control framework
- Review and challenge outsourced fund administration activities including valuations, fees, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Contribute to fund controlling activities across our private markets' portfolio, including capital calls, distributions, and valuation oversight.
- Support annual accounts, regulatory reporting, and financial reporting processes.
- Improve data quality, reporting processes, and financial controls by identifying opportunities for automation and better use of data and technology.
- Work closely with colleagues across Finance, Operations, Investments and external service providers to strengthen processes and solve operational challenges.
What you bring
This role would suit someone who is looking to build on a strong technical foundation and take on broader responsibility across fund oversight, financial control, and operational improvement.
- At least five years of relevant experience in fund accounting, financial reporting or audit, gained at an asset manager, administrator or advisory firm.
- Strong understanding of investment fund accounting, including NAVs, accruals, management fees, FX and reconciliations.
- Experience preparing financial statements under Dutch and/or Luxembourg accounting standards.
- Experience with private markets, including an understanding of capital calls, distributions and valuations, is strongly preferred. Experience in an outsourced operating model is an advantage.
You'll enjoy in this role if you
- Enjoy understanding how different parts of an asset management business connect and work together.
- Like taking ownership and turning complex issues into practical solutions.
- Are naturally curious and enjoy improving processes, controls and reporting.
- Feel comfortable working with different stakeholders and constructively challenging where needed.
- Are interested in how data, technology and automation can improve quality and efficiency.
What we offer
- Broad exposure to investment funds, stakeholders and service providers across the asset management value chain.
- The opportunity to contribute to the transformation of our fund operations through data, automation and AI.
- A collaborative and supportive team where people genuinely help each other succeed.
- Flexible working arrangements, a healthy work-life balance and 31 days of annual leave.
- Volunteering days and the opportunity to work abroad for up to four weeks per year.
- A competitive salary and benefits package, including participation in the Provisum pension scheme.
- Additional benefits such as a home office budget, subsidised lunches, an in-house barista and a discounted gym membership.
Reference checks and a pre-employment screening are a final step of the hiring procedure.
We believe better decisions come from diverse perspectives and an inclusive culture. We are committed to providing equal opportunities for all and creating an environment where everyone is respected, valued and able to contribute fully. We encourage applications from individuals with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. If you are excited about the role but do not meet every requirement, we would still like to hear from you.
