
Staff Accountant II

Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant II will maintain financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
What you will do:
Financial Record Maintenance & General Ledger Management:
• Accurately record and classify financial transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
• Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records, ensuring timely adjustments when necessary
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
• Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports for management review
• Analyze costs, revenues, and financial commitments to support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Provide financial insights and recommendations based on historical trends and predictive analysis
Account Reconciliation & Expense Monitoring:
• Perform regular account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Monitor company expenditures and ensure alignment with financial goals and budgets
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes by reviewing transactions and making necessary adjustments
Regulatory Compliance & Audit Support:
• Ensure all financial transactions comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to support compliance and audit requirements
What you need:
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Experience with financial reporting and internal controls
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
