The Position
We are seeking a Product Marketing Manager to join our team. This role will own the marketing strategy and execution for AIRCO JP-8, a distributed production system designed to produce military-grade JP-8 jet fuel closer to where it is needed and support the development of future AIRCO products. Working closely with the Commercial team, this person will develop high-quality customer materials, shape product positioning and go-to-market strategy, and define product communications priorities and messaging, partnering with Brand and Content on PR, social and external execution.
Being close to the work is fundamental. You will understand how each system is being developed, what it can credibly deliver and when it will be ready. You will turn that knowledge into disciplined product messaging and communications plans that build confidence without getting ahead of technical maturity.
Experience in military, defense or fuel markets is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will understand how mission-critical products are evaluated, communicated and purchased - and how credibility is earned with government and defense audiences. This role reports to the CEO with a dotted line to the fractional CMO. This role is in person 3 days a week, at our site in New Britain, Pennsylvania.
What you get to do
- Lead positioning, messaging and go-to-market strategy for AIRCO JP-8 and future fuel-production systems, translating complex technical capabilities into clear, mission-relevant value for defense and government customers.
- Partner closely with Commercial to understand customer missions, requirements, objections and procurement criteria, and turn those insights into compelling sales materials, proposals, product briefs, demonstrations and customer presentations.
- Build product launch and communications plans tied to development milestones, ensuring messaging evolves appropriately from development through demonstration, qualification and deployment.
- Define product communications priorities and messaging, partnering with Brand and Content on PR, social, thought leadership, executive communications and external execution.
- Work directly with Engineering, Product, Supply and Operations at our Pennsylvania site to understand technical progress, identify upcoming milestones and ensure all external claims are accurate, supportable and appropriate to product maturity.
- Own the product marketing content roadmap, turning technical progress, customer use cases and demonstrations into credible product stories and materials that support commercial objectives.
- Capture customer and market feedback to continuously strengthen positioning, sales enablement, product messaging and go-to-market strategy
What you bring to AIRCO
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Product marketing experience in a technical, industrial or B2B environment.
- Experience translating complex technical products into clear customer value propositions, positioning and messaging.
- Experience supporting enterprise, government or defense sales teams with customer-facing materials, sales enablement and go-to-market execution.
- Experience planning and executing product launches or major product milestones.
- Strong writing and presentation skills across customer materials, executive communications and external messaging.
- Confidence working directly with engineers, operators and technical leaders, with sound judgment around technical claims, sensitive information and product maturity.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment with evolving products and priorities, with regular in-person presence at AIRCO’s New Britain, Pennsylvania site three days per week.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, particularly presentation development.
Bonus Points
- Direct experience marketing products to the U.S. Department of Defense, military branches or defense prime contractors.
- Familiarity with defense acquisition, government procurement and mission requirements.
- Experience with military fuels, fuel logistics, contested logistics, distributed energy or mission-critical infrastructure.
- Experience in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, energy infrastructure or other technically complex hardware environments.
- Experience commercializing products in a startup or growth-stage technical organization.
