The Role

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Detection & Response Engineer to join our team and enhance our security operations.

The Senior Detection & Response Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing security infrastructure, with a focus on Security Information and Event Management (SIEM). You will lead efforts in threat detection, incident response, and continuously improve detection capabilities to protect against evolving threats. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure timely responses to security incidents and to drive long-term security improvements.

This role is based out of our Palo Alto, CA office, and an Onsite interview is required as part of the process.

Responsibilities:

  • SIEM Leadership & Optimization:
    • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system.
    • Define use cases, configure monitoring, and create detection rules for comprehensive threat visibility.
    • Ensure SIEM integrations with other security tools and platforms to enable efficient threat detection and response.
  • Advanced Threat Detection:
    • Monitor and analyze security alerts and events to identify and address potential threats.
    • Fine-tune detection rules and alerts to enhance threat detection and improve response times.
    • Proactively hunt for hidden or emerging threats within the organization's systems and networks.
  • Incident Response Leadership:
    • Lead and coordinate response efforts during security incidents, managing all phases of the incident lifecycle.
    • Conduct thorough root cause analysis and post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement in response processes.
    • Maintain and enhance incident response plans and playbooks.
  • Security Automation & Optimization:
    • Develop automation scripts to streamline detection and response workflows.
    • Optimize security monitoring across cloud environments.
  • Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Partner with DevOps, IT and other teams to refine detection and response strategies.
    • Stay informed on the latest security trends, tools, and techniques to ensure Aisera remains at the cutting edge of security defense.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in security operations, advanced threat detection, incident response, or similar roles.
  • Proven expertise with security monitoring tools, including SIEM deployment and optimization.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Shell, Java, JavaScript).
  • In-depth understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., SOC2, ISO27001).
  • Hands-on experience with security monitoring, automation, and incident response in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to lead teams in high-pressure situations.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, CEH) are a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
