Location:
Akaysha Head Office, Cremorne (Melbourne). We're open to a hybrid working style; spend time in the office and at home.

Manager, Spot Trading.

The role:

This position requires someone who has a foundation in energy and would like to continue their development within the industry, and in trading. Suited to someone who is looking to shape their career into a Senior Trader position, you'll have access to the knowledge and guidance of highly skilled people across our business; enabling professional development in all areas of energy and BESS operations. You'll be responsible for the portfolio whilst on duty; utilising your skills to improve market interfaces, real-time analysis and connections between Akaysha's business pillars.

Due to the combination of expert trader inputs and our autobidder operation - this opportunity will provide a foundation for learning the technical and strategic areas of market operations, while automating the administrative aspect of the market operations interface. Working at the pointy end of BESS and autobidding deployment, you'll be exposed to commissioning and trading of the most powerful BESS globally, alongside an expanding portfolio of Australian and International Assets.

Key responsibilities will include:

Act as duty trader :
- Responsible for the portfolio when on desk
- Implement the team's trading strategies
- Be willing to make decisions (with support as required)
- Ensure compliance with applicable market rules and regulatory obligations
Participate in on-call roster
Contribute to the development and execution of Trading strategies
Develop policies and procedures for the NEM and international energy markets
Interface with broader Akaysha Team to share market information and to ensure Trading input to processes as required.
Tool & system development

What you'll bring:

1-2yrs trading experience
Experience in physical energy trading or trading analysis (Electricity)
Strong ICT skills - preferably an ability to produce tools dynamically
Independent & self directed (you'll need to comfortable operating on the on-call roster)
Proven ability to positively contribute towards a collaborative work environment.
Experience in electricity spot trading energy constrained assets (BESS, hydro, gas) would be highly regarded.
