Ideally this role will be based in our Head Office in Cremorne, Vic or our Sydney CBD Office.
We're open to a hybrid working style; spend time in the office and at home.

The role:
The Senior Insurance Manager will lead and manage Akaysha Energy’s global insurance program. Reporting to the General Counsel, the Senior Insurance Manager will play a critical role in shaping and optimising our insurance strategy and coverage as we grow and expand internationally.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Working with Akaysha’s insurance brokers and insurers to ensure Akaysha’s insurance portfolio remains fit for purpose.
- Managing all insurance policies in Australia and globally, including establishing new policies and managing renewals across our corporate and project insurances for Akaysha's portfolio of BESS Projects and business operations, ensuring the insurance program remains agile and responsive to jurisdictional needs while maintaining global consistency.
- Partnering with internal stakeholders and business units to ensure Akaysha Energy’s insurance program is responsive to the company’s risk profile, and to recommend cost effective risk management strategies that may benefit the insurance program.
- Assisting in identifying and addressing insurance risks associated with any business activities, balancing risk and cost.
- Driving continuous improvements in our insurance strategies, ensuring we have robust, cost-effective coverage while minimising gaps and maximising value across our global operations.
- Staying current with best practice insurance strategies, options and approaches.
- Preparing papers for and presenting to Leadership and the Risk & Compliance Board Subcommittee with respect to Akaysha Energy’s insurance program as well as insurance strategy options and recommendations.
What you'll bring:
- A passion for insurance in the context of Akaysha Energy to enable the energy transition.
- 5+ years of insurance experience within energy, construction or a similar sector (desirable)
- An understanding of the insurance market including relevant legislation (desirable)
- Experience presenting to all levels of the organisation
- Solid organisational skills, including attention to detail
- Proven planning and monitoring skills
- An ability to facilitate productive working relationships to ensure successful outcomes and adherence to timelines
- Demonstrated ability to analyse information and solve problems, showcasing resourcefulness, perseverance and financial and commercial astuteness
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Commitment to proactive teamwork, collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and creating internal and cross-functional relationships
- A well-organized, open and approachable working style
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills such as consultation, liaison and negotiation to support stakeholders
- Ideally, you'll possess a law degree and/or relevant legal qualifications.
