Human Resources Business Partner
As a Human Resource Business Partner, you’ll work alongside a Senior HR Business Partner to support over 350 Software Engineers, serving as a trusted advisor on all things people-related. You understand that building strong, lasting relationships is key to influencing decision-making and driving meaningful change. In this role, you’ll partner with the Senior HRBP to manage key HR processes, including performance reviews, employee development, hiring, succession planning, and employee relations for your assigned groups. Your goal? Ensuring a top-tier employee experience that aligns with our long-term business objectives—helping us retain top talent and uphold our reputation as a fantastic place to work.
As a key HR resource, you’ll provide personalized support to managers, and employees, addressing both individual and broader organizational needs. Whether coaching leaders, resolving employee concerns, or supporting strategic HR initiatives, you’ll work in tandem with the Senior HRBP to drive positive outcomes.
This position will be based out of our HQ office in Tysons and will report to the Manager, Human Resources, who oversees the Platforms HR Business Partner team. We value in-person collaboration and require working from the office Monday – Thursday each week.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic HR partner by providing programmatic support, coaching, and thought partnership to all levels within the Software Engineering organization, with a primary focus on supporting and guiding management.
- Build strong relationships with employees and managers to gain deep insight into business needs and challenges.
- Develop people strategies and design approaches for diagnosing and enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
- Partner with business leaders to manage and facilitate organizational change.
- Proactively assess team and manager development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Provide HR expertise in areas such as performance management, employee relations, leadership development, coaching, and organizational growth.
- Guide managers through complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent resolution of workplace issues, including investigations and performance improvement plans.
- Integrate and partner with HR colleagues in the Recruiting, Learning & Development, Compensation, Legal, and HR Operations teams to implement solutions and help scale the business.
- Perform other HR-related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a HR Business Partner role.
- Previous experience supporting engineering teams is preferred but not required.
- Strong client-service focus and ability to build and manage relationships across different levels and functions.
- Desire to work collaboratively with broader HR team to analyze, plan, and improve processes.
- Able to balance multiple time-sensitive deliverables and effectively prioritize, organize, and manage time.
- Commitment to excellence and high level of integrity; ability to exercise strict confidentiality and sound judgement.
- Proven employee relations experience and guidance, with the ability to manage delicate situations with fairness and appropriate outcomes.
- Takes ownership of work, isn't afraid to tackle challenges, sees opportunities for growth, and has the patience to learn new processes.
