AlertMedia is seeking a Billing Manager to join the Finance & Accounting team. This role is responsible for owning and scaling billing operations to support rapid company growth, with a focus on execution, process ownership, and operational efficiency. Reporting to the VP, Controller, you will own the end-to-end billing process across subscription and usage-based revenue. You will be accountable for billing accuracy, timeliness, and customer experience, while partnering with billing systems teams to improve automation and scalability.

This is a hands-on operator role. You will lead day-to-day billing execution, manage exceptions, and ensure billing runs reliably as the business scales. Success in this role will be measured by reduced time-to-invoice, improved billing accuracy, measurable improvements in billing efficiency, and the ability to operate efficiently with minimal manual intervention.

Who You Are: 

You are a metrics-driven, operationally focused leader who takes ownership of outcomes and ensures work gets done. You are comfortable managing high-volume processes, making decisions in real time, and balancing accuracy with speed. You do not rely on manual work as the default—you look for ways to simplify and improve processes over time. You communicate effectively across teams and are comfortable partnering with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance to resolve issues and move work forward.

What you get to do every day: 

 Own Billing Operations

  • Own the end-to-end billing process across subscription and usage-based revenue
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoice generation
  • Manage billing queue, prioritization, and execution

Manage Exceptions and Decision-Making

  • Review and resolve complex billing scenarios (proration, expansions, terminations)
  • Make real-time decisions to ensure billing continues moving forward
  • Reduce dependency on manual review by standardizing workflows

Lead Team Execution

  • Manage AR team supporting billing and collections
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and on time
  • Provide guidance, prioritization, and accountability

Partner with Systems

  • Partner with systems teams to improve automation and workflows
  • Provide feedback on process gaps and inefficiencies
  • Support adoption of new tools and processes

Improve Processes

  • Identify opportunities to simplify billing workflows
  • Reduce manual effort through better process design
  • Improve invoice quality and reduce customer inquiries
  • Track and report on key billing metrics, including billing efficiency, cycle time, and accuracy

What you bring to the role (requirements): 

  • 6+ years of experience in billing, AR, or revenue operations
  • Strong understanding of subscription and/or usage-based billing
  • Experience managing high-volume billing processes
  • Experience managing teams or serving as a team lead, including setting priorities, providing guidance, and driving accountability
  • Ability to balance accuracy and speed in execution
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales and Customer teams
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
