Senior Unified Communications Engineer
Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) is seeking a skilled Senior Unified Communications Engineer to join our team and support our FBI customer who requires full lifecycle support for legacy voice capabilities to include enhancements/changes to existing capabilities, as well as new capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our enterprise-wide unified communications (UC) infrastructure. This is a senior-level position requiring deep technical expertise, particularly with Avaya, Managed Secure Telephony Platform (MSTP), Cisco, Microsoft TAC, Power Bi, SAFe, and the ability to lead complex projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Managing and troubleshooting Avaya and MSTP (Managed Secure Telephony Platform) systems.
- Overseeing all engineering activities related to MSTP configuration and ensuring proper endpoint connectivity.
- Resolving technical issues within systems, troubleshooting performance problems, and ensuring operations efficiently.
- Ensures that Avaya and MSTP solutions are configured and optimized to meet business needs.
- Maintaining and supporting EVoIP (Enterprise Voice over IP) systems, ensuring they are functioning at peak performance.
- Provides essential back-end engineering support for troubleshooting MSTP and resolving T4 tickets related to telephony issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Provide business process modeling and reengineering support.
- Provide secure reach-back support.
- Ensure that technical strategies align with business needs.
- Primary Product Knowledge: Avaya, Managed Secure Telephony Platform (MSTP), Cisco, Microsoft TAC, Power Bi, SAFe.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight (8) years of experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree; master’s degree in a related field may substitute two (2) years of experience.
- At least (5) years of experience on VOIP projects.
- Experience supporting IT projects for the FBI.
- Experience supporting multi-site deployments.
Other Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret Clearance.
- Must be able to successfully pass an FBI Polygraph prior to starting work.
- 15-20% travel is required.

These include, but are not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies that align with the specific role, geographic location, educational background, and contract provisions related to labor categories specific to the position. We are committed to offering a competitive compensation package that reflects the value and expertise that each candidate brings to our team.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is $114,000 - $160,000.
