Unified Communications Deployment Specialist
Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) is seeking a skilled Unified Communications Deployment Specialist to join our team and support our FBI customer who requires full lifecycle support for legacy voice capabilities to include enhancements/changes to existing capabilities, as well as new capabilities. The Unified Communications Deployment Specialist performs a variety of network engineering tasks which are broad in nature and are concerned with the design and implementation of integrated networks, including hardware, software, and supports facilities and/or equipment. Performs with some latitude for non-reviewed actions and decisions. Plans and performs unified communications research, design development, implementation and other assignments in conformance with network design, engineering and customer specifications. Responsible for the technical/engineering part of a major project or a project of lesser complexity and importance than those normally assigned to a higher-level engineer.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides technical expertise implementing and supporting various phone systems throughout Remote Help Services (RHS), utilizing Avaya Aura solutions (Communications Manager, System/Session Manager, Messaging).
- Installs, implements, programs, modifies, moves adds/changes to phone systems and related applications. Ensures system changes and system documentation are properly updated and maintained.
- Assesses and analyzes customer issues. Provides technical diagnosis and general technical support. Troubleshoots communications hardware and voice circuits. Implements solutions to maintain efficient operations and system integrity.
- Provides training and expertise to end users regarding telecommunications systems. Provides timely and thorough responses to customer inquiries to determine and repair technical issues.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (Required), bachelor’s degree in a related field (Preferred); additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree; master’s degree in a related field may substitute two (2) years of experience.
- 8 years relevant telecommunications experience; At least (3) years of experience on VOIP projects and at least two (2) years’ experience with UC solution technologies.
- Experience supporting IT projects for the FBI.
- Experience supporting multi-site deployments.
Other Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret Clearance.
- Must be able to successfully pass an FBI Polygraph prior to starting work.
- Must be willing to travel 20-30%.
- Must have at least one of the following certifications: Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist, Avaya Certified Support Specialist, Avaya Certified Solutions Specialist in the areas of Call Center, Messaging, Session Manager, Contact Center, or equivalent Cisco Certification, CCNA Voice, or other leading industry certification.

These include, but are not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies that align with the specific role, geographic location, educational background, and contract provisions related to labor categories specific to the position. We are committed to offering a competitive compensation package that reflects the value and expertise that each candidate brings to our team.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is $114,000 - $160,000.
