Mechanical/Electrical Drafter
Mechanical / Electrical Drafter – Defense Robotics Systems
Company Overview:
Allen Control Systems (ACS) is a cutting-edge defense startup, founded by two ex-Navy electrical engineers with a proven track record in robotics and software. We are developing a small, autonomous gun turret that employs advanced computer vision and control systems to precisely target and neutralize small drones and loitering munitions. Our innovative approach requires overcoming significant technical challenges, making this an exciting and dynamic environment for experienced engineers.
With an engineering-first culture, ACS values technical excellence and innovation. Backed by our founders' successful exits from two previous ventures acquired for a combined $180M in 2022, we are committed to ensuring that the groundbreaking technologies we develop will have a real-world impact.

- Ensure all documentation adheres to internal and industry standards.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of configuration control and drawing release workflows.
- Work with fabrication and assembly teams to resolve design issues and support production.
What You'll Need:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience drafting in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks for mechanical modeling and drafting.
- Experience using Altium Designer for electrical design and PCB layout.
- Familiarity with GD&T, mechanical tolerancing, and drafting standards (ASME Y14.5).
- Understanding of mechanical assemblies, fasteners, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
You'll Stand Out:
- Experience working on defense, aerospace, or robotics hardware.
- Familiarity with cable/harness design and layout best practices.
- Exposure to configuration management systems and PLM tools.
- Experience with 3D printing or rapid prototyping technologies.
- Prior work in a startup or high-velocity engineering team.
