Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the design, commissioning, and launch of Autonomous Mobile Robotic (AMR) systems for in-plant material logistics.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful planning and integration of AGV / AMR system.
- Manage large-scale projects from inception through handoff, coordinating with vendors to ensure on-time and on-budget execution.
- Conduct site surveys to evaluate installation requirements and assess project feasibility.
- Utilize experience with controls, IT, and AMR systems to root-cause issues during facility launch, and implement lessons learned into future deployments.
- Develop and execute testing plans to ensure AMR performance meets project requirements.
- Coordinate training to end-users on AMR operation and maintenance strategy.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to optimize AMR performance and reliability.
- Support scope-of-work development and competitive bidding exercise for AMR equipment.
- Benchmark best-in-world practices for AMR deployments and utilize findings to drive strategy development.
- Coordinate design reviews, risk mitigation, commissioning processes, launch handoff with a manufacturing facility.
- Identify capital reduction and quality / throughput improvement opportunities.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, engineering technology, mechatronics, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in deploying automation technology into a manufacturing facility.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (Autodesk, Teamcenter, etc.) and simulation tools.
- Knowledge of controls systems, IT architecture, and related interfaces with automation technology.
- Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally.
- Knowledge of safety, quality, and regulatory requirements for AGV / AMR technologies.
Preferred Requirements
- Highly motivated self-starter capable of leading cross-functional teams towards a common goal.
- 3+ years of experience in deploying AGV/AMR technology into a manufacturing facility.
- Experience with PLC controls, industrial robotic systems, and virtual commissioning tools.
- Experience in planning, implementation, and onsite launch of large-scale AMR systems.
- Experience with Lean / Six-Sigma methodology and processes.
