Field Service Engineer (90% Travel)

As Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for;
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
****This position requires 90% travel****
- Traveling construction liaison between design engineering and construction during the erection of the Water Treatment Plant.
- Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites
- Manage activities of outside vendors and suppliers, assuring services and supplies meet project specifications and performance requirements.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures and log sheets to document and monitor equipment during storage, installation and/or initial operations.
- Develop and execute installation, assembly and storage plans.
- Perform quality inspections of electromechanical equipment/rotating equipment with Clients and client-designated representatives.
- Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within safety standards
- Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages
- Figure out alignment issues and plumb adjustment figures. Plane Geometry, chemistry formulas.
- Lead and/or assist customers with Electrical and/or Instrumentation requirements (space, labor requirements, tools, disposal of test water, etc..) to support commissioning activities, operational/startup spares and Operating and Maintenance Practices.
- Participate in Customer Factory Acceptance Tests and related Control Systems reviews.
- Perform on-site programming for Water Treatment Control Systems and assist with electrical installation and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with Automation and E&I Leaders regarding project execution and continuous improvement.
Education/Experience
- College Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Water Treatment field or 10 years of experience in Construction and/or Commissioning
- Valid driver's license.
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- Strong focus on customer relationships (both external and internal customers). Understands balance between customer and teams.
- Knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to learn equipment and process startup related to products and systems including but not limited to Reverse Osmosis, Clarifiers, Thickeners, Pressure Filters, etc..
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.
- Possess basic water treatment chemistry knowledge and communicate that information to others.
- Electrical experience and know-how (hands on, reading and interpreting drawings, etc), particularly with electrical panels, junction box, cabling and grounding practices, etc..
- Familiarity with setup, installation, configuration, calibration and/or maintenance of instrumentation used in water treatment processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Desired Skill Sets:
- Experience in Commissioning, Construction or Services.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Equivalent from an accredited University or College
- Water treatment experience
- Rockwell Automation experience and know-how (hands on, reading and interpreting drawings, etc.), particularly with PLC troubleshooting
- UF/MBR + RO Familiarity
- General understanding of mechanical, electrical and programming
- Training in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures preferred.
Location: 90% Travel (mostly East Coast)
Salary Range: $70K - $130K
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
