Job Description:

The ideal candidate for this position is a strong team player willing to work in a fast-paced environment. They will be involved in reviewing requirement-driven test cases, working with automated test scripts, and executing System Validation testing for electrified and conventional propulsion software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test execution using state-of-the-art validation methods to achieve maximum test coverage in hardware-in-the-loop (typically dSPACE infrastructure) and vehicles.
  • Flash Software / Merge Calibrations and work with the controls/calibration/HIL team(s) as required to make the baseline software functional on the HIL.
  • Utilize HIL bench to execute baseline Software System Validation testing for the propulsion systems on various projects.
  • Gather required test data and perform initial data analysis to isolate the potential root cause of failures between HIL, test scripts, software, calibration, or requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional electrified department stakeholders from Software, Calibration, and Systems groups to solicit requirements clarifications, communicate results, and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with the HIL hardware, plant model, and tools teams to communicate results and resolve issues as required.
  • Create and publish test reports for the required team members and author issues in the issue tracking databases as necessary.
  • Support issue debugging activities on the HIL.
  • Contribute actively to the weekly HIL issues/change requests meeting with the HIL team to ensure timely resolution of HIL features/issue fixes requested.
  • Provide structured feedback on assigned tasks and upcoming tasks to immediate supervisors and electrified management through 1-on-1 meetings or other forums as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or equivalent engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of motivating the team to success.
  • Experience with typical office software (e.g., Google Sheets, Docs, and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Hybrid and Electric automotive architectures.
  • Exhibit flexibility, prioritization, and the ability to multitask.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or similar from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Experience in Agile Methodology.
  • Experience in testing using test properties such as, but not limited to: HIL/Emulator/Dyno/Vehicle, etc.
  • Experience with test development tools such as, but not limited to: Provetech TA, Control Desk, Automation Desk, Python, and Visual Basic, etc.
  • Ability to use CAN/Networking tools such as, but not limited to: INCA, CANAlyser, CANApe, and ATI Vision, etc.
  • Experience with ALM tools such as, but not limited to: DOORs, PTC Integrity, Rational Quality Manager (RQM), Rational Team Center (RTC), etc.
  • Knowledgeable in CARB OBD and Federal Diagnostic requirements.
  • Working knowledge of HIL HW and SW test environments including Plant Models, Harnesses, Load boxes, FIUs, Controllers, etc.
  • Exposure/Experience with Python/VS scripting.
  • Licensed and insured driver capable of operating test vehicles on public roads.
