Description:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive XR (Extended Reality) Engineer to support and expand the use of immersive technologies within our automotive development processes. You will play a key role in driving innovation through Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) applications across design, engineering, manufacturing, and training functions.
This position is embedded within a global OEM environment and will require a strong mix of technical XR expertise and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and expand XR utilization across design, manufacturing, and training teams.
• Operate and maintain XR hardware (e.g., Varjo, HTC Vive, HoloLens) and software platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering, HMI, and IT teams to integrate XR with CAD, PLM, and product development tools.
• Create and optimize interactive XR experiences using tools such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar.
• Facilitate VR/AR design reviews, ergonomics assessments, and user testing sessions.
• Provide training and coaching to internal teams on XR tools and best practices.
• Identify new use cases and recommend XR strategies that drive value across departments.
• Ensure content compatibility and performance across XR platforms.
• Stay updated with the latest XR trends and emerging technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in XR/VR/AR application development or engineering support.
• Proficiency with Unity3D, Unreal Engine, or similar 3D content creation platforms.
• Familiarity with automotive development environments and CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX).
• Hands-on experience with XR hardware and software.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
• Proactive mindset with a passion for immersive technologies.
Preferred Qualifications :
• Experience in an OEM or Tier 1 automotive environment.
• Scripting knowledge (e.g., C#, Python).
• Exposure to UX/HMI design principles.
• Background in simulation, visualization, or training development.
