Interior Mechanisms, Technical Specialist
Job Description:
- Design and develop complex mechanism systems and components used in car interiors, including Air-Vents, Storage solutions on Instrument panel and center console, Interior door release handle, sliding roof, Seat rail covers, Sun Visors.
- Innovate and propose new mechanisms for interior elements to improve functionality and usability of interior space
- Work on the integration of mechanism systems with electrical and electronic components for a seamless user experience.
- Design user interfacing mechanisms meeting best in class haptics requirement
- Be the go-to guy for mechanisms related expertise to help fellow engineers
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in design and development of Automotive interior systems
- 4+ years of experience in directly working on design and development of any of the following interior mechanism system - Air-Vents, Storage solutions on Instrument panel and center console, Interior door release handle, sliding roof, Seat rail covers, Sun Visors
- Experience in automotive interior systems is optional in case of exceptional expertise in design and development of mechanism systems in other industry.
- Knowledge of gears, motors, hinges, linear and rotary actuators, dampers, linkages, cams, and other mechanism components.
- Experience in Kinematic analysis of mechanisms in Catia
- Experience in stack up analysis of mechanism assemblies.
- Experience creating/improving/establishing technical product specifications and timelines to achieve an accelerated development cycle towards SOP
- Experience of at least one complete product development lifecycle from concept till production
- Experience in integrating mechanical, electrical, and software aspects of product into vehicle architecture with good understanding of first principles of engineering in the areas of mechanics, electronics, and material selection.
- Experienced in interpreting modal analysis, finite element method analysis and computer fluid dynamics simulations reports and defining next optimization steps
- Working knowledge of manufacturing technologies like injection molding, stamping, casting, extrusion etc.
- Education B.S. minimum in mechanical engineering. Masters preferred.
Salary Range: $110,000-125,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
