
Process Quality Engineer

As a Process Quality Engineer you will be responsible for;
We are looking for a Process Quality Engineer – Control Plan & Process Risk, responsible for developing and maintaining Control Plans as part of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing processes meet defined quality standards and risk management protocols, with a focus on technical inspection data, process compliance, and key characteristic traceability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and update of Control Plans using inputs such as PFMEA, SOIs, technical drawings, routings, and process standards (AIPI, IPDA) focusing on quality assurance.
- Define and provide technical inspection criteria for Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 inspections, ensuring alignment with product/process specifications.
- Collaborate with Multi-Functional Teams (MFT) to review, validate, and approve documentation related to control plans and risk analysis.
- Identify and report Key Characteristics (KCs) and Critical to Inspection (CTI) features to ensure traceability and quality focus throughout the process.
- Evaluate the need for and contribute to SARI (Systemic or Administrative Risk Indicator) or QSR (Quality Surveillance Report) declarations where applicable.
- Ensure all control plan files are updated, version-controlled, and accessible for audit and operational use.
- Support continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives across engineering, quality, and production teams.
Qualifications;
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or highly regulated industries.
- Working knowledge of APQP, knowledge in IATF 16949, AS9100 is a plus.
- PLM or QMS software experience is a plus.
- AIRINA, Normaster, IPDA knowledge is a plus.
- Six Sigma Green Belt, ASQ CQE, or equivalent certifications preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience preferred
Salary Range: $70K-$80K
Location: On-site in Mobile, AL
