
Validation Engineer, Traceability

The Component and Sub System Hardware Validation team is responsible for ensuring components and sub-systems on our vehicles to meet all functional and reliability targets needed to facilitate our autonomous mobility service. Through a methodical approach to requirements definition and validation testing we hold a high bar for component and subsystem performance. We are looking for a validation traceability specialist to help us ensure we’ve dotted our i’s and crossed our t’s. This is a role focused on traceability and clarity through the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Review component and subsystem requirements, verification methods and design validation plans
- Identify gaps in process, missing links, or inconsistencies between requirements and test cases
- Develop and implement tools to help us create and maintain clear traceability
- Work closely with validation engineers to create action plans to bring issues identified to resolution
- Collaborate with adjacent validation workstreams and requirements management teams
- Drive traceability closure to support platform engineering sign-off
Qualifications
- BS or MS in mechanical engineering, or related relevant field
- Strong understanding of automotive hardware development lifecycles and V-model processes
- Hands-on experience with requirements management tools (Polarion or equiv.)
- Strong analytical and documentation skills, with attention to technical accuracy and compliance
Bonus Qualifications
- Exposure to DFMEA and risk-based validation approaches
- Familiarity with JQL / SQL or HTML-based reporting
Salary
- $120-130k
- The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
