
Sr. CAD Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Design Changes - CAD model modifications with guidance from part owner
- Design Iterations - CAD development and maturation, this will be interactive with the part owner
- Clean sheet modeling - Schematics and initial design iterations, this will be interactive with the part owner
- Drawing updates / changes - Either closing the loop relative to above CAD work scope prior to checking submission or corrections within the checking process, this work will be with the Part/assy owner and/or the Dimensional team
- Drawing preparation / completion - Clean sheet drawing prep, this would optimally be under the Dimensional team’s guidance to ensure minimal corrective actions being required.
- Standard model library content generation (dog houses/ribs/in-mould clips/swages,etc) - We will be populating this library, models must be fully parametric and easily modified to suit variable applications.
- Assisting the package team in generating CAD for mock-ups, bucks, restriction geometry, criteria, master sections, packaging/black box volumes. - guidance from Package layout/Studio responsible engineer
Qualifications:
- CATIA specialist, conversant in generating fully parametric solids (boolean/sketch)
- Strong knowledge of plastic or metallic (or both) part design including the various manufacturing processes, able to propose right tech for given application/circumstance
- Able to create robust designs including part attachment and datum systems
- Able to conduct basic tolerance stack-ups
- Understanding of Mechatronics System mechanical integration requirements/Development of PCBA interface
- Industrialize Class-A Design Surface data
- Generation/modification of drawing content using ASME Y14.5 standard and well versed in GD&T
- Able to conduct design reviews with applicable engineer/s
- Catia V6 preferred
- 3DX conversant
- Excellent written and verbal skills,
- Good understanding of Microsoft office, Google docs, JIRA
- Customer focused, able to work flexible hours to support work when needed.
Salary:
- $115,000-120,000
- The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
