The Project Leader has technical responsibility of Work Package projects with an estimated engineering count of 30-80 FTEs. The responsibilities of the Project Leader are to manage the technical project activities according to agreed deliverables, quality and cost as well as ensuring compliance with customer requirements. Additional responsibilities are to qualify the internal staffing of projects, develop and adhere to project timeline and report the operational situation during internal reviews.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in accordance with defined standards. Other duties or tasks may be assigned as required. The essential duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Customer/Bid & Offer

  • Review technical requirements set by customer
  • Participate in quotation activities
  • Support client meetings and on/off-site visits
  • Monitor delivery progress with the customer
  • Support negotiation with the customer

Project Management

  • Manage project team and tasks on a day-to-day basis
  • Report/communicate to external technical stakeholder
  • Monitor delivery progress on projects
  • Manage technical scope of projects
  • Responsible for quality of deliverables
  • Prepare customer Steering Committee meetings
  • Evaluate activities/roles that should be near-/offshore, if any
  • Support definition of roles and responsibilities in project organization​
  • Support validation of project organization and team members
  • Monitor technical skills of team members
  • Report operational/financial situation during ALTEN internal monthly financial review​s
  • Identify technical/project training needs on projects
  • Support efforts to change/improve engagement model with clients
  • Drive and support AI implementation

Supervisory Needs and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage team by providing guidance/mentorship, assigning tasks, setting goals, and evaluating performance of team members.
  • Make strategic decisions based on alignment with ALTEN leadership and the overall organizational strategy.

           

Minimum Qualifications and Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should meet each requirement. The requirements listed below are representative of the required knowledge, skills, and/or ability.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a technical college or university in Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of total experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a Project Leadership role.
  • Must possess hands-on experience with project management and project management leadership.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, analyze and interpret all forms of communication and business correspondence.

  • Ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have extensive knowledge of the following software programs:
    • Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Outlook).

Other Skills/Abilities/Specifications

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects successfully to customer requirements (scope, cost, schedule, margin, delivery of contractual deliverables)

Project Location

  • The Project Leader needs to be located in San Fransico, CA to have proximity to client.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid model with remote work and work from customer location(s) in San Francisco, California.

 

Salary: $130,000 - $135,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
