Overview : 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline. 1-4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, automation, or production environments. 
  • This position is focused on supporting the development, implementation, validation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and production equipment. 
  • The role involves working closely with manufacturing, process engineering, operations, quality, and technician teams to improve production performance, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and support new equipment and process deployments. 
  • The engineer will contribute to manufacturing scale-up activities from prototype and pilot operations through high-volume production while supporting process optimization, equipment commissioning, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, a hands-on approach to problem solving, and the ability to work directly on the manufacturing floor to support production operations and equipment performance. 

Key Responsibilities :

Manufacturing Process Development & Optimization 

  • Support the development and optimization of manufacturing processes and production equipment 
  • Assist in improving process capability, quality, throughput, and overall production efficiency 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements through data analysis and shop floor observations 
  • Support manufacturing scalability from prototype builds through full production 

Equipment Commissioning & Production Readiness 

  • Assist with commissioning, startup, validation, and troubleshooting of new manufacturing equipment 
  • Participate in production line launches and equipment qualification activities 
  • Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and production readiness reviews 
  • Ensure manufacturing systems are operating safely and effectively 

Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement 

  • Analyze manufacturing and production data to identify trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities 
  • Monitor key manufacturing metrics related to quality, yield, productivity, and reliability 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, ergonomics, safety, and operational efficiency 
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to support process improvements 

Problem Solving & Manufacturing Support 

  • Work closely with operations and technicians to identify and resolve manufacturing issues 
  • Participate in root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies 
  • Implement and validate corrective and preventive actions 
  • Provide hands-on support during equipment and process-related investigations 

Documentation & Process Control 

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including:  
  • Work Instructions
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Control Plans
  • PFMEAs
  • Process Documentation
  • Ensure documentation accurately reflects manufacturing processes and best practices 

Tooling & Fixture Development 

  • Support the design and improvement of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids 
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, ergonomics, and efficiency through equipment modifications 
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and external vendors on tooling and equipment solutions 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner closely with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Manufacturing teams 
  • Support communication between engineering and production teams during implementation of process changes 
  • Collaborate with suppliers and external partners as needed 

Profile :  

  • Hands-on engineer who enjoys solving technical problems directly on the manufacturing floor 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with genuine curiosity about how machines, equipment, and processes work 
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to connect manufacturing performance to actionable improvements 
  • Proactive and eager to learn in a fast-paced production environment 
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineers, operators, technicians, and leadership teams 
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining a practical approach to problem solving 
  • Positive attitude with a strong sense of ownership and accountability  

Must Have :  

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline 
  • 1–4 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, automation, or mechanical design 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing systems and equipment 
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations or production environments 
  • Ability to analyze technical or manufacturing data 
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills 
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment 

Good to Have : 

  • Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing environments 
  • Experience with manufacturing process validation and equipment commissioning 
  • Experience with Excel, JMP, Minitab, Python, or similar analytical tools 
  • Exposure to PFMEA, Control Plans, and process documentation 
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies 
  • Experience supporting automation or production equipment projects
