Overview : 

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar manufacturing environments, with hands-on experience working with torque tools. 
  • This position is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through the implementation, validation, sustaining, and troubleshooting of production processes and equipment, with a strong focus on torque tools and vision systems. 
  • The Process Engineer will work hands-on within the manufacturing environment to ensure torque requirements are consistently achieved, support the implementation and ongoing performance of torque tooling, and troubleshoot process or equipment issues impacting production. 
  • The role will also support vision systems used within manufacturing processes, requiring a practical understanding of how these systems operate and how environmental conditions, particularly changes in lighting, can affect their performance and reliability. 
  • The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong technical foundations, a high level of curiosity, and a genuine willingness to learn and teach others.
  • This individual should be comfortable investigating problems with limited guidance, learning new processes and technologies, and sharing that knowledge across the team. 

Key Responsibilities :

Torque Tools & Process Control 

  • Support the implementation and sustaining of torque tools within manufacturing operations. 
  • Measure and validate torque to ensure defined process requirements are consistently achieved. 
  • Troubleshoot torque tooling and process issues impacting production. 
  • Investigate process deviations and identify potential root causes. 
  • Support ongoing process reliability and production readiness. 

Vision Systems 

  • Support and troubleshoot vision systems used within manufacturing processes. 
  • Understand how lighting and other environmental conditions can impact vision system performance. 
  • Investigate inconsistent vision results and identify factors affecting system reliability. 
  • Support adjustments and improvements required to maintain stable vision processes. 

Equipment Implementation & Production Readiness 

  • Support the implementation of new machines, tools, and manufacturing equipment. 
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues during equipment implementation and production ramp-up. 
  • Investigate equipment failures, including machines stopping mid-process or not operating as intended. 
  • Work through technical issues to help bring equipment to production-ready status. 
  • Provide ongoing sustaining support once equipment is operational. 

Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement 

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process and equipment issues directly on the production floor. 
  • Analyze problems and independently investigate potential causes and solutions. 
  • Support root cause identification and corrective actions. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve process reliability and manufacturing performance. 
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles where appropriate. 

Training & Collaboration 

  • Work closely with manufacturing, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams. 
  • Communicate effectively in a fast-paced production environment. 
  • Learn new processes, equipment, and technologies as manufacturing needs evolve. 
  • Share technical knowledge and lessons learned with other team members. 
  • Help train and develop others on processes and equipment when needed.

Must Have:  

  • Hands-on experience working with torque tools in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Practical understanding of torque processes, including measuring or validating torque against defined requirements. 
  • Experience supporting, sustaining, or troubleshooting torque tooling and related manufacturing processes. 
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing vision systems and how they operate. 
  • Understanding of how lighting and environmental conditions affect vision system performance and reliability. 
  • Hands-on manufacturing or process engineering experience. 
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and/or production process issues. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to investigate technical issues with limited guidance. 
  • Strong willingness and ability to learn new processes and technologies. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.  

Good to Have: 

  • Process Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering background. 
  • Experience within automotive, engine manufacturing, assembly, or similar production environments. 
  • Experience supporting the implementation or launch of new manufacturing equipment. 
  • Experience with equipment ramp-up and production readiness activities. 
  • Lean Manufacturing experience. 
  • Continuous improvement experience. 
  • Root cause analysis experience. 
  • Experience training or transferring technical knowledge to operators, technicians, or other engineers.
